    2016 GAA TV Schedule
    Setanta have released their schedule for the national leagues, again Setanta continue to have two games Live at the seam time on a Saturday surly they should have staggered times so people can watch booth games live.

    There's no harm in giving people a choice of games to watch

    Having the two games be at 5pm and 7pm (for telly purposes) is a great idea, especially for people going to the 5pm game. You can head for home at a decent time. It's madness to be making people drive across the country at 8.30/9pm, on freezing cold & icy nights in February and March.

    That's without consider other sports which a 5pm will be in contention with, either on at the same time or when a supporter would need to be travelling.

    Yes but if your paying the sub but can only watch half the content. You would not have half the PL or half the ECC rugby on St the same time. 6pm and 7.35pm would be better.

    I'm presuming TG4 will be providing live and deferred of the Sunday games.... Is there any listings/schedule of same?

    Have you ever driven from Dublin to Donegal or West Cork in February, when you leave Dublin at 9pm and you don't get home 'till well after midnight? Trust me, the roads can be an issue, especially for the non motorway part of the trip.

    I do accept your point about other sports being on. The league is slap bang in the middle of the Six Nations territory too, so Setanta are entitled to want the games to be on when they will get the most viewers. It still doesn't make starting a long journey at 8.30/9pm any easier though.

    7 o'clock throw ins on a Saturday give some time for the normal Saturday afternoon shopping traffic to clear. It can be a nightmare trying to find parking on an average Saturday afternoon in a provincial town.

    You get six channels for your Setanta subscription. You can only watch one of them at a time so you're watching a lot less than half the content.

    The Premier League has a large number of it's games on at the same time. They're not all available here or in the UK but many of the companies that are paying for the overseas rights have red button options where you pick the game you want to watch eg Fox Sports.

    It is rare that TV companies like sky, Bt or even Rte would put to games form the same league on at the same time. As you say most Primer league games at 3pm are not live in Ireland but the games that are live are never on at the same time. Most GAA league games are not on TV so surly it is better to have the one’s that are on Tv live at different times. You would never have RTE showing live champions games on RTE 1 and RTE 2 at the same time its usually 2pm and 4pm (wile geame that are not on tv are usually 3.30pm) , and I think there has only been one clash between RTE and Sky when a replay was involved.

    I take your point this happens, but I can’t see how this is better. There are only two live games of gaa on TV, with the rugby and soccer there are many live games so its heard to fit them all in and it is not often in rugby that teams from the same country clash on tv at the same time. Also in soccer the champion’s league last16 games are spread out on different days to take this into account.

    I just think it’s better to have the games timed like they do in the summer two live games one after each other. But I understand you disagree with me.

    On both channels they are showing the other game in full after the live game, so you can see both games back to back.

    next weekend, the GAA coverage starts on Tg4 on Friday at 8.30 pm with the hour long Seo Sport which previews the Hurling league games.
    Theres then 2 x football club semi finals on Saturday and 2 x hurling league games on TG4 (3hrs 47mins plus 3hrs 55mins)
    There's an hour long highlights programme "League Sunday" on RTE at 7.30pm and at 8.30 on Monday on TG4 another hour long highlights programme "GAA 2016"

    If thats not enough after almost 11 hours of GAA coverage free to air, there's 2 FURTHER games on Setanta live on Saturday evening.

    does anyone actually have time for all this GAA coverage ?

    Shame the France v England Six Nations game is on so late. That probably played a part in Setanta not airing a game tonight. Pity. I'd much prefer watching Clare & Limerick duke it out, or the Dubs v KK.

    Live coverage on Saturday of the GAA All-Ireland Post Primary Schools Football Finals from Croke Park on TG4.
    Saturday,

    Gallen CS Ferbane (Offaly) take on Holy Rosary College Moutbellew (Galway) in the Paddy Drummond Cup B Final at 13.15 while St. Brendans, Killarney (Kerry) play St. Patricks (Derry) in the Hogan Cup A Final at 15:00.

    A bit biased as it's my alma mater but the St Brendans team are a serious outfit - they won the semi-final by 18 points and the Munster final by 29 points and have a chunk of lads likely to be involved with the Kerry minors.

    The Kerry v Cork game is the football game on Sunday at 14:00 and it's followed by the Tipperary v Clare hurling at 15:45
