Bollox. Splurge like you've never splurged before OP. Champagne, cocaine, those tasty chocolate covered macadamia nuts from M&S. This may be the last time an oppurtunity like this presents it's self until you reach retirement age. Blow it all. Blow it hard. Make some fvcking memories. Could have your face eaten by a chimp tomorrow, and then what's going to be more comfort? The fact that you've been sensible and saved for a rainy day, or the memory of that period of your life when you filled yourself full to the gills with all the nice expensive things and lorded round the place enjoying your time off and living like an eccentric modern day aristocratic playboy like the place was going out of fashion?

Keep hold? Life's for living. Be reckless. Throw caution to the wind. Enjoy your youth while your young enough to enjoy it. You'll never be this young and handsome and carefree and able to be this reckless ever, ever again. You're a man, not a machine. Piss into the wind clad from head to toe in armour during a thunder storm while screaming "All the Gods are ****!".

Yes, yes, yes, some sense at last.

    Go high or go home.

Holiday in the States, stay in Phoenix, trips to Grand Canyon, Tombstone for a pub crawl dressed as Wyatt Earp or a woman of ill virtue depending on your orientation. Vegas is only up the road, pub crawls in Scottsdale (Papago Brewing, Rose and Crown, British Open, Dukes and there's a new 'craft' bar opening near Papago). Round it off with a few games of golf and a bit of Frisbee golf near Dukes. Reckon I could do damage to 4k, oh and you have to see the aircraft graveyards on the way to Tombstone.

There are laws against just firing people.
They need to give you verbal and written warnings beforehand.

    Not true I am afraid.

I have no intention of drawing the dole.
I wanted to go travelling immediately and then get a job when I get back.
    Looking at a career change.

Just need to rekindle my sense of fun and adventure.

Using the phone. Please see attached image.

You could always put your hair in a bun and say you were kidnapped if anything goes wrong I guess. Seems to work.

    Would love to travel Vietnam/Cambodia.
The money would last a good few weeks there.

Well you would want to cycle there or thumb a lift.

Your massive 4K will take a big hit after you book a return ticket to either of them places.

Under 700Euro for return flights, not bad!
I've been to South East Asia before, spent about 2 grand in a month, but we went out 28 days out of 30.
    And bought internal flights.
Drinking would be kept to a minimum.

Fact you have a big smiley face after your post says a lot .
You come across as someone who takes as much as they can for as little input as possible .

Which sounds pretty damn good to me, anyway. Beats getting feck all for killing yourself anyway. CODY! Learn to surf! Surfing looks cool. And chicks dig surfers.

Traveling might seem like a good plan, but realistically, your savings aren't enough to do that. Depending on your lifestyle, 4 grand would probably keep you for about 2 months, maybe a little more. I'd just suggest budgeting that 4 grand, making it last as long as possible and looking for a job while staying at home. It would be easy to go on a trip and just think "Ah, doesn't matter for now", but I'm pretty sure you'll be regretting it when you run out of money and have to move back in with your parents(if that's even an option) and claim the dole. I highly recommend against traveling unless you already have a job set up for you when you return.

Yes, you'd get a few months there alright depending on the countries you decided upon (Chile, Brazil, Colombia and Argentina are expensive now).

I blew E11,000 inheritance in South America over the course of a year there 8 years ago. I'd the best year of my life but now I'm all sensible and 34, I kinda wish I'd done a masters instead as I'm stuck in a low paying, dead end job with no security trying to get the money together to pay for the one I'm hopefully starting later this year and it'll be a serious struggle.

Think before you act would be my advice. I also headed off just before the crisis started and presumed I'd have no problems getting a job when I got back....and I was wrong (arrived home just after it started). I would've advised you to spend it all and enjoy yourself 10 years ago but now the way things are at the moment, I'd be more sensible about it. If you've 2000 put away, add another 2000 to it and go on holiday for a month somewhere closer to home.

If you're half as smart as you think you are, buy 20-30 donkeys and teach them to work, then send them out to work in your stead, and boom, you've 30 incomes coming in. You could retire to any country you like.

Invite you boss to a super cool party and spend 4K getting him/her sh1t faced.

    only two outcomes are possible....

1 - boss thinks your awesome, you get a pay rise + time off.
    go travelling.

2 -boss gets photographed with prostitutes ( read point 1).

    :D
