If you are using the free app it not worth it. The set up on their website is far better http://www.flightradar24.com

I have all the add ons on the paid app and its mostly the same. The 747 and An124 have the same symbol, 2 engines and wings at around a 45 degree angle.

Thats interesting to note about the paid app. As the free website would appear to have much more accurate symbols a 747 most certainly looks like a 747 with 4 engines etc, an A380, well yes it looks very like a A380 and so on. I can't recall the last time I saw the An124, but I know that the Irish Parachute Club is always very well defined as a light aircraft.

I was thinking about getting the paid app, but after hearing this I'll stay with the free web site.

The symbols on the website are exactly the same as the on app (once you get the add on).

I fund that app far handier as I can check FR24 whenever I want. If I'm near an airport, I can see if there's any flights nearby, what it is and where its coming from.

So am I right in saying that you pay for the add on bits in the app, that are free on the website?

Maybe its me, but I find the free webite as easy to use as the app. As a matter of fact I got rid of the free app from my iPad only last week as the free website is as handy to use and has more info.

I only use the app on my phone, never the website. Really useful for me. It is such a great app that it really doesn't bother me to pay a few Euro for the add-ons.

As Carnacalla said it flies SNN-DUB-CGN every week night for UPS. Aircraft that did that flight over the years (as far as I can remember anyway) included 2 Channel Express Lockheed Electras, they were replaced by a single Channel Express A300 I think the Star Air 767 took over from that.

The DHL flight is always one of their own aircraft in that unmistakable livery. Of all the weeknight cargo flights the TNT was always the most interesting, could of been anything from one of their own 737s to one operated by Bluebird Cargo (Iceland) Cargo Air ( Bulgaria) or Swiftair (Spain) possibly even our own Air Contractors. Seems to be regularly flown by Bluebird now.

TNT into Belfast is a pick-and-mix as well, though they seem to have settled on Jet Time and Westair for now.

I'd be interested in how the TNT flights are allocated, whether the operators bid for each slot or whether they are allocated per availability.
