Can't have been Dublin because the DAA don't allow T&G's ;)

Why did Emirates Dxb-Lhr fly over central europe, whereas Dxb-Gla went north through Russia and then turned west?
The Lhr follows close to great circle, the Gla not so much..

North of the Black Sea is notam'd as a war zone. Best to avoid Crimea and Ukraine.

Wonder what the deal is with the Rouge flight, have to guess just a fuel stop after a charter or something ?

Canada has been accepting a lot of Syrian refugees and there has been a number of charter flights taking them there from Amman before Christmas. This may be fuel stopping and taking refugees onwards to Canada or else it's maybe dropping the first batch to here??

A fuel stop and possible crew change, I'd have thought.

It is more than likely the reason but the purpose of the flight may very well be relocation.

I absolutely hate hearing this news, same when it's Virgin or BA retiring their 74's... What a shame that it's the nearing the end of the road for so many of them nowadays...
