That ATC request is a constant sort of fun with crews not used to Dublin

    The answer OE?

Where oh where have I've witnessed this high-horse attitude before? Hmm... Oh anyway, I'm sure there was a perfectly reasonable explanation for their confusion (what do we know about Cessna's FMC or their procedures anyway?) and I'm sure their English is good enough if they work at NetJets and move VIPs around. Have some respect!

Ah no not dissing them or their English at all. I just found the guessing game funny and the fact that they need the OE report from everyone :)

Im sure I have heard on at least one occasion a correct waypoint that that wasnt Oscar Echo.

The required waypoint will differ according to the runway in use and SID.

good then... but that really is a strange question, isn't it? I admit my knowledge about SIDs is rather limited, if someone would ask me whats my first waypoint, Liffy is the pretty much first thing that comes to mind

Ops stopped temporarily at Dublin due to pothole spotted by departing aircraft at Dublin on RWY10.

Runway check taking place, ops may change to RWY16.

Now being described as a ''runway break-up''.

Yep, RWY10 staying in use though. Ops resuming.

Its their way of ensuring that the pilots have selected the correct SID in their FMC, as the SIDs for light/turboprop aircraft have earlier turning points. Many other airports have a myriad of similar departures without such a cross check though so DUB is the only one I've come across which performs such a crosscheck.

I believe they started asking about first waypoints after the Air France B747 freighter accidentally flew the cat A/B SID

RWY34 in use at the moment, any reason why? With such light winds (4kts) from the west it seems unusual.

was only for a few mins. two planes flew in over my place so i had a quick look at FR and then i notice now its back to normal again.

temporary issue on the main runway?

9 vehicles/beacons currently on the radar at Dublin.

suggests something is happening there, could be the same issue as yesterday with the runway break up.

It doesn't, most of those 9 vehicles/beacons have annoyingly been on radar without fail for the past few weeks.

theres still possible/probably at least 5 vehicles out on the tarmac at the moment though.

    FR342 running late.

Speaking of flights running late, I stumbled home from a night out at 3am on the morning of the 31st.
I was putting the bins out and noticed a flight heading by the house.

I thought it a bit odd and sure enough it was a Ryanair flight coming in from Tenerife.

    Then I passed out.

I think it's testing equipment. I posted a similar question

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=98235961 (#9453)

about this aircraft recently. It was doing a similar test flight out of DUB.

DUB-BUD returned this morning due to a technical problem.
