funny.. when I want to shop for clothes, I go to Germany as sometimes I feel that all Ireland has to offer is either incredibly luxurious stuff or tracksuits in 50 shades of grey.. no middle ground for anything. As for anything else - amazon... So why would Icelanders spend their hard earned cash in Ireland when a flight to Germany/US wouldn't work out much that longer or more expensive is beyond me.. Hotel and food prices are not very competitive as well.. but heck, sure, I'm glad they're doing it and are keeping the route alive..

High wind speeds and turbulence being reported at DUB over ATC now.

Aircraft are also being cleared for an RNAV approach, that's unusual.

Calibrator aircraft is going up at DUB shortly, to check out all navigational equipment is working as it should be. Estimated to take 3-4 hours.

    First ever 777 BBJ apparently!

Looks a sensational outfit, any idea who owns it and why it's in Shannon?

A direct result of the executive lounge there being run by Quintessentially Aviation which allows pre clearance for US travel.

I've no info on who is handling this aircraft, but all of the based FBO's use Shannon's pre clearance for their U.S. Bound clients.

All FBOs offer pre - clearance and executive lounges to their customers not just Q aviation. This aircraft isn't even being handled by them. Other fbo's have been there developing the business long before Quintessentially aviation jumped on the bandwagon.

I think he's asking what RNAV means! A quick google search reveals it still means the same as it always did:D

My mistake, I thought the user was expressing scepticism!

I don't fully know what it is, when I first heard it I thought I picked it up wrong! A quick Google helped though :)

Last night there was a few pilots getting annoyed about the RNAV approach!

Anyone know what could be going on around ACE? 2 inbounds holding altitudes at 20,000 and 21,000ft and another inbound which made a go-around very late in the arrival on RWY03 at ACE is now diverting to FUE.

Edit: Another aircraft (Binter Canarias ATR) just returned to the radar, that made an apporach to RWY21 and went around.

Edit 2: Metar edited and theres now a strong 17kt Southerly wind with Heavy Rain and VIS at 1000m

Not the easiest approach at the best of times I'd say.

Nope EI779 on the ground stuck for the past while, seems to be moving again. Wind also decreased and Rain tapered away. Planes also reducing altitude and coming out of hold. With Heavy rain enough to reduce Visibility to 1000m I can only imagine how strong it was!

All flights holding diverted to FUE.

Seems to be a Yellow rain warning for today and an Orange rain warning for tomorrow. Always nice for a desert climate.
