Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the 2015 PW Draft!

The aim of this game is to create a fantasy roster over the next few weeks and months, and then put together a fantasy card in which you describe how you'd book the line-up you have assembled.

This is the thread in which the 20 lucky members who signed up will make their draft picks. While the rules are all listed below, I'd like to remind people that most rounds will be random, though some will see picks organised based on particular factors (order of the last round, overall average order, etc).
    ALL DISCUSSION SHOULD GO >>>HERE<<<

Any requests to be placed on the substitution list, in case anyone drops out, should go >>>HERE<<<

NOTE: As an act of courtesy, we ask that after a player has made their pick for the draft, they check the list to see who is next and send them a friendly PM reminder, so as to keep things flowing smoothly.

The rules are as follows (It's advised new players read over these rules, but are also highly encouraged to ask questions if there is any confusion).
    Draft Order
The order people make their picks is decided at random, via a completely unbiased List Randomizer website. There will be two rounds in which the drawing order will not be random. These will be made clear at the start of those two rounds.

    Tag Teams:

Tag Teams come as a package so for example if you want the Dudleys then you don't have to pick Bubba one round and then D-Von the next. The rules for tag teams are as follows:

    - Cannot have a world champion in them ie no DX or Hart Foundation
    - Must have tagged together for at least 3 months
    - Inter gender tag teams not allowed
    - Members of factions, ie Saturn and Malenko, are not deemed valid picks as they are not classed as legit tag teams under the criteria for the game.
    - 5 tag teams is the maximum amount of teams for each roster

    World Titles:
World titles are considered as the following:
WWE, World Heavyweight Title/WCW, TNA and NWA

(Note: For the benefit of the game as a whole and to reflect the realistic loss in prestige of the NWA Title, only holders of the NWA Title up until the WCW World Championship came into use will be regarded as World Champions for the purposes of the game. )

    Eligible Promotions:
WWE, TNA, ROH, anything historically going under the NWA banner.

    Time Frame:
No professional debuts pre 1970 are eligible. There will be a round for pre 1970 picks. There will also be a celeb round where celebs who have appeared on wrestling TV are elibible for picks.

    - To determine wrestler debuts we will use Wikipedia as in previous years. If you feel the Wikipedia entry is incorrect you can PM me or one of the mods to state your case.

    - people who would be considerd Celebs more so than wrestlers are only eligable to be drafted in the special celeb round and not in any other round

    - Dark matches and try out matches will not be valid cases this year for selecting a wrestler.

    - Managers and female wrestlers are eligible if people wish to pick them. Commentators have not been included in recent years.

    Trades:
Trades are allowed from rd6 onwards but you are limited it 5 trades each. When a trade occurs it's superstars your trading, not goes in the draft, so you must be able to make the draft pick before they are eligable to
be drafted, i.e all normal rules such as 5 tag team picks limit are still in effect.

Trades may be vetoed by those running the game in order to ensure a fair balance is maintained. However, this is extremely unlikely to occur for the vast majority of trades, and will only be discussed in situations where there is suspicion of other matters influencing the game.

    Stip rounds:
We've got a few stipulation rounds lined up. Make sure to read each carefully, and if you're unsure what you're meant to do, ask in the discussion thread and verify your pick with an organiser.

    Missed Picks
The draft runs under a 24 Hour rule. In other words, you have 24 hours to make your pick from the moment the person prior to you has made theirs. This will be enforced so as not to slow down the game. If you think you are going to miss your window, PM someone a list of who you'd like and they can make your pick for you. Should you miss your window, your pick will be pushed back to the end of that round.

Note - Rules may be amended during the contest to help run the game smoother if it's felt this is necessary but we will aim to ensure everyone is kept up to date if this has to happen

    Round One

    DRqj1tH.gif

Spent a long time thinking of a great round one stip. And this year, the stipulation of the first round is.......

    .......there is no stipulation.

    Mind blown, right!
Usually, Round One is designed to limit people, force them to think within a tight confine and pick someone from a narrow field. This year, I wanted to kill you all with kindness! Normal rules apply with regards debut dates, world champions and tag teams, but it's going to be a firesale of big names this time round, as your only limitation is deciding who to choose fromin an open field.

So do you use this chance to pick someone you absolutely must have! Do you go with the biggest name you think is available. Someone who can work with any one else? Someone who needs a certain other to make their character work. Play it safe? Take a risk?

One more note though: Round 2 will be a Reverse Order Round; if you're #1 this round, you're #20 next round. Number #2 goes 19th, etc. An early pick in round one is great for getting a top, top guy....but it could be a while before you get to choose his perfect feud partner.

So pick wisely and remember how many people are between you and the perfect combo!

Round 1 was drawn randomly, and the order is as follows...

    1. Lithium93_
    2. Lord TSC
    3. Beaker Joe
    4. Bounty Hunter
    5. Connemara man
    6. MrKiscool2
    7. MNG
    8. Spongey1975
    9. Uncle Walt

    16. RAF32
    17. Lebowskittle
    18. Brad Maddox Guy
    19. Shagnasti
    20. JP Liz

So congratulations to Lithium93_ who gets his pick of the litter, and good luck to everyone else.

My first pick is a man I've never had the opportunity to write for in the past. I never thought I would get the chance to have him this year either so I'm delighted I can acquire his services. I won't go on and on with a list of his qualities and achievements as you likely know them already. Simply put, on a list of all-time great stars this man has to be on it.

Fusion Pro Wrestling is taking a different turn in it's 4th year. Every year we have noticed that one particular type of wrestler seems to be a third or fourth thought in bookers minds, and often booked just for the sake of booking this type of wrestler. We have decided that enough is enough. These are some of the best wrestlers in the world and we are going to showcase them for what they are. This year, every single member of our roster is a woman.

And with that, allow us to welcome to you our first two picks. Two women that have become trailblazers in the sport. Ladies and gentlemen, Trish Stratus and Lita

OCW, after intense negiotiations would like to announce the re-signing of the current OCW World Heavyweight Champion.....

    brian_pillman_-_brian_pillman_07.jpg

    Furthermore, General Manager M.Moneymaker has a massive announcement to make;
"As part of our negotiations with Mr.Cena, we agreed to a special clause in his contract, which entitles him to the Number 1 contendership to Mr.Pillmans World Heavyweight Championship.

To this end, Mr.Cena has decided to exercise this clause on the season premiere of OCW TV, and therefore the main event for your very first show of the season is a blockbuster main event for the prestigious title."

    Roster:

    John Cena
    Brian Pillman(c)

    OCW Episode 1:

    OCW WHC Title Match:

    John Cena vs Brian Pillman(c)

When asked for comment, Mr.Pillman had this to say.
"I can't wait. Cena is all about Never Give Up. He's never had to deal with anyone like me."

My pick for Round 2 is another man I've always wanted to write for and have been unable to - until now.

How to describe him? I'll let Bret Hart sum him up:

"He was, I think, the guy who changed wrestling to where it is right now. He deserves the most credit out of anyone I can think of...he really changed wrestling."

Here is what the Wrestling Observer makes of him:
    Wrestling Observer Newsletter awards
5 Star Match (1983) vs. Tiger Mask on 23 April
    Best Flying Wrestler (1984)
Best Technical Wrestler (1984) - tied with Masa Saito
Best Wrestling Maneuver (1984) Power clean dropkick
Match of the Year (1982) vs. Tiger Mask on 5 August, Tokyo, Japan
    Most Underrated (1983)
Tag Team of The Year (1985) - with Davey Boy Smith
Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame (Class of 1996)

Monday Night Grappling is delighted to announce the acquisition of one of the greatest wrestlers in history...

    dynamitekid.jpg

    Dynamite Kid!

He will not be coming alone, though. Joining him will be his long-time tag team partner and countryman, who was a damn good wrestler in his own right. A man who had one of the most memorable matches in history at Summerslam '92 against Bret Hart.

    That's right...

    220px-The_British_Bulldog.jpg

'The British Bulldog' Davey Boy Smith!

Wrestling Observer Newsletter awards: Davey Boy Smith
Best Wrestling Maneuver (1984) Power clean dropkick
Feud of the Year (1997) with Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Jim Neidhart, and Brian Pillman vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin
Tag Team of the Year (1985) with The Dynamite Kid

Either as singles participants or as a tag team, this pick represents tremendous value.

Monday Night Grappling roster thus far:

    1. Stone Cold Steve Austin
    2. Dynamite Kid and Davey Boy Smith aka The British Bulldogs

Martouf Wrestling Federation has been in negotiations with the following two superstars for some time. After joining the federation last year, both men had keen interest in returning to the fold.

First up, a man who would normally be accompanied to the ring by chants of "Olé Olé Olé Olé" and is the current NXT champion after finally winning the big one! However, he has decided to join us. Our second signing is....
    Sami Zayn
    Sami-Zayn.png

And his partner is coming to MWF aswell once again! He is an absolute beast of a man, with his mantra to beat the crap out of anyone who is brave enough to step into the ring with him. Our third signing to the MWF, also an NXT superstar jumping ship is...
    Kevin Steen

If you ask most wrestling fans what was the biggest / best PPV of the year was they would say Wrestlemania but a large proportion of the IWC would disagree they would say that that PPV was held only a few nights ago in the Tokyo Dome Japan and all I can say is I hope you guys here are part of that group of wrestling fans because my next draft pick joining Bret HartCM Punk in the 2014 BWA is two men who together headlined that PPV (New Japan Pro Wrestling's Wrestle Kingdom 8) and are the two men who have led New Japan out of the wilderness of the dark times and, with **not yet drafted** are the top stars of the company.

    I give you
    Hiroshi Tanahashi & Shinsuke Nakamura

    TNAW TV-Taping @ Orlando
2008/01/22 @ Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida (United States of America)
    Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Elix Skipper

Of course only a few days ago they both helped make Wrestlekindom 9 something I urge you all to watch so...

    Here we go again!

the BWA's champ is staying in the BWA again this year and I have big plans for the King of Strong Style too

MWF is proud to present it's second tag team. One of the men is considered a great wrestler, with a terrible story. The other a vastly underrated wrestler who has never gone above higher mid-card.

Firstly, a man whose career is seen as one of the greatest of all time. From his humble beginnings in Stampede wrestling, to Japan and all the way to the World Heavyweight Championship at WM XX. Our next signing is the "Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit.
    Chris-Benoit..jpg

Our second man is someone who has never been acknowledged for the amazing technical wrestler he actually is. This man has multiple championships in multiple different federations and he plans to make a massive splash at MWF. We are pleased to announce our fifth signing as Dean Malenko
