GW 18 match day thread

Woo hoo 11k after update! Finally putting a shocking start to the season behind me.

first 3 digit return of the season.

patience was key. no hits.

held off on ditching Rooney (his record v Newcastle was too good to ignore), Siggy (he was due to do something and he's a massive differential for me in my leagues) and Eriksen (could've ditched him for -8 along with Rooney for Silva/Yaya and Bentekkers/Bony).

It was merely a week where my choices came off. I got luck too. Ben Davies was dropped (ridiculous given his superiority over Rose), so Bertrand came in.

Also, delighted I went for my gut and ignored the fanciful talk of Sanchez getting rested. He's playing until he drops IMO. He's Arsenal's Suarez. Liverpool were never resting Suarez last year, and I just don't think Sanchez will be rested unless he's properly showing Wenger a reason why he should be.

Next GW choices could go belly up, but it went spectacularly well today.

77(-8)...brought in Kane for Sakho and captained him so that worked well,dropped 7k in overall ranks put gained a bit of ground in my mini leagues,not a bad day.

Ah sure you can't go questioning every decision you make. As long as you make what you think is the best decision at the time given the information you had then that is what is important. In the long run its about making the right decisions not pulling off maverick captaincy decisions that sometimes pay off.

Last week I broke into the top 100k for the first time I ever remember (possibly way back when)

Continued that this week, now ranked 40k!

Last 4 weeks I've gone....
233k -> 154k -> 74k -> 40k

Flying it now. Just wish there wasn't a wildcard to ruin my run!

Yes captain picks are key to this game. I can understand why some (many?) want it removed. It does influence hugely how good or bad you perform. But it also gives us this emotional rollercoaster that I'm sure deep inside we all enjoy so much.

The score I would have gotten... ah not again I did promise .

There's a huge difference though between Suarez and Sanchez. it's Sanchez 1st EPL season. He's not used to play at this time of the year. He looked drained at the end of the game today. He absolutely gave it all (I remember seeing him sprint up with the ball and win a freekick in the 93rd min). Did he know he was going to get a rest on Sunday? Well we'll see but I'd be surprised if he starts Arsenal next game. The worst thing for them would be to get him injured. Isn't Ozil supposed to be back now?

My 116 sees me with an OR of 92. Definitely my best ever score in my two and a half year ff career. It takes me from around 27k to just outside the top 6k. Delighted is an understatement obliviously. Hope they don't rest too many players on Sunday.

Just noticed the person in 1st has been there since GW10 that is pretty dam impressive! Pretty consitent history too last 4 years finish 15k-50k.

Its pretty scary that if they had scored 0 for the last two GWs they would still be ahead of me despite me picking up 179 points in that time!!
