On paper, many options this week. In the real world, many of the better options may stay on the bench, supping tomato soup from under their tartan blankets.

    Sanchez (QPR)
Hazard if fit, Yaya if not

    Yaya (wba)
Its a rotation minefield this time of year so with that in mind im going for the fresh rested in form bony with a nice home fixture. If i knew sanchez would start id pick him but i think theres a good chance he'll get rested.

If I had Giroud, I'd go for him. Will probably go with Bony though. He's been close to racking up some big scores in recent games and maybe this will be the game he finally explodes in.

    RVP (NEW)
    Silva....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,255 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

    Yaya (wba)
More than likely Bony but Villa are not an easy side to break down.

    Silva (wba)
Giroud. On form, at home, against the worst away side in the league. Easiest decision in a while

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 248 ✭✭LucidLife

    Giroud (QPR)
    Im seeing a costa hatrick

Just looking at that...they're only behind City, Chelsea and Southampton in terms of fewest away goals conceded. Food for thought alright.

Edit: They've actually conceded the same number of away goals as Chelsea - 10

Was thinking of transferring Sterling. He has not done much for me in a while

    I'm thiknking RVP.

    Costa (WHU)
Eriksen, Sanchez or Bony. Currently Sanchez wearing it...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,022 ✭✭✭✭Iused2likebusts

yaya or hazard or whatever striker I get for costa.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,255 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

    Yaya (wba)
I'm thinking of just going with Sanchez. All this talk of rotation is making me dizzy at this stage. Last year it was clear Ozil badly needed a rest and Arsene just played him and Ramsey until he broke them over the Xmas period.

I'm thinking that mightn't change this year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,336 ✭✭✭✭km79

most nailed on starters for me are probably
    baines - no thanks
    yaya- away but a possibility
rooney- home ,in decent form but in midfield ......
bony- home but villa defence is mean
    probably between Rooney and bony
forgot Giroud- not a certainty to start.... but reckon he will
    so between them 3

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 784 ✭✭✭FrClintPower

    Costa (WHU)
I've gone Sanchez (C) and Bony (VC).

If Sanchez is going to be rested hopefully he gets the full game off, otherwise I'm happy to have him captain at home against QPR. Bony's guaranteed to start but Villa aren't the worst at the back.

Other candidates - Rooney's too deep, Austin's away (although you never know....), Eriksen's too unpredictable, Hazard may be injured/rested.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,195 ✭✭✭irish son

Sanchez is the stand out choice but good chance he'll be rotated so not sure what to do, probably Bony if I play it safe.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 335 ✭✭kevinroche3333

    Bony (AVL)
    Van Persie for me. Probably!
60mins the last game, Rooney has played alot of 90mins recently so i cant see him moving up top to replace RVP, and Wilson doesnt look like starting material yet for me. I cant see Falcao starting as lone striker.
United lost their shape a little once RVP went off vs Villa, I see Van Gaals main man leading the charge at home to Newcastle.

    Any more for RVP?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,024 ✭✭✭JokerD

Can't see Hazard playing, it was predicted after his appearance against Derby that he would miss at least one game over the festive period and after the injury last night then it's likely he'll miss the West Ham game imo.

    Costa (WHU)
Sanchez for me, QPR are woeful away. Really hoping my captaincy luck continues, my last two captains have been Hazard last week and Austin this GW.

    bang on.

there ain't a hope of Sanchez being rested IMO.

Arsene will play his best players through Christmas, then rest them for the FA Cup weekend.

If hazard is rested what's the chances Fabregas to keep play in further forward or do u reckon shurle will play instead of hazard and fab to go back beside matic wit Oscar coming back into the side?

Just brought in Sanchez for Yaya

Is there rumours he's gonna be rested?

    Bony (AVL)
    Hazard
    Sanchez
    Van Persie
    Costa

    Hazard - possible injury
    Sanchez - possible rotation risk
Van Persie - hot and cold, risky captaincy choice
    Costa - as above

I'll probably go Sanchez with Hazard or Van Persie fighting for vice captaincy honours and let what happens, happen. Though I am so, so tempted to give it to Van Persie again! :pac:

    Kane (lei)
Toss up between Hazard, Sanchez and Bony.
Like the idea of rested Bony but Villa are resistant. If I had Giroud, it would be him. Gonna go with Sanchez and Bony vc.
Goin to go with Bony vc as pretty confident he will play. Bit risky to have c and vc who may be subject to rotation.

    Rooney (NEW)
Brought in Kane with a view to captaincy.....he's a young lad but on fire at mo and against a leaky Leicester defence...here's hoping:)

He was excellent at the weekend. I plan to get him in the wildcard.

I haven't a breeze to be honest. I don't reckon I'll be getting a high score on Friday at all. Too many variables and several of my players are playing each other and that's a FPL pain if ever there was one. I have it on Hazard at the minute with vice on Bony, though Sanchez, RVP, and Silva are all credible picks too.

I dunno. I have five options so I might just roll a dice. ;)

They are a form team at home, a terrible away team. A poor team in fairness who leak goals and will be relegated

I'm not sure about relegation for them to be honest. I think Burnley and Leicester will go and then you could have any one of a number of teams.

QPR's problems are at the back and I think cash will be splashed there in January.

On Costa atm but could easily be Sanchez come Stephens morning. Happy Christmas everyone

Not on current form and not against WH.

Costa is a poor captaincy choice as he never rates high for Bps either!

No, I'd say there is some chance of Sanchez playing both games, so I'd make him about 65-75% for either game right now (obviously his percentage would drop significantly for the 2nd game if he plays the 1st)

Whereas Costa, I would be stunned if he played both games, so I think it is almost a straight up question of which one he plays and which one he rests.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,083 ✭✭✭Chesty08

I wouldnt. He was rested and never travelled against Galatasaray with the importance of the Xmas period in mind.

People only having doubts because he was poor against Liverpool... the old excuse, 'he looked tired'

He is the main man and he will play. He will start and he will score! He will be brought off after 65mins when they are 4-1 up.

Fair enough. Costa is probably more likely to play v Southampton I guess.

Don't know really but have 4 good options in theory.

    - RVP is destined to haunt me this season I reckon so maybe just having him will be enough if he does decide to perform but then Alwnick is in goal.
    - Bony has had his rest one assumes and is very tempting. Who knows what Villa side will show up and Wilf certainly is due an explosion of points.
    - Sanchez at home to QPR is probably the wisest choice and is probably the leading contender for the masses I assume
    - Hazard is Hazard but little doubts with that knock and the fact he hasn't had a rest yet.
