Congratulations winner!

I must admit, I had the same moment of fear when I read the Twitter myself.

But then I remembered Betfair were only taking the highest of 2 shows on the day, not adding them.

Its a great feeling when it sinks in, that fear feeling then turns into the rush of a win.

I made 2,800 Euro profit today, but its not my biggest all time win though.

I will never forget the rush of winning 3,000 on Hurtlocker winning Best Picture at the Oscars in 2010.

Everyone said I was mad for betting 3k on it, as Avatar was the tipped oods on favourite, but sometimes a man has to trust his gut instinct.

how much did ye get on lads? Tried a few hundred but 70 was max bookies would take. Liquidity wasn't there on betfair

I am 100% on the Oscars bet. Trust me.
Pesonally I will have 10k on it as soon as the market opens on Betfairs exchange.
I can't get anything like that on their sportsbook market, so its of no interest to me.
None of the other bookies will take that amount from me on the market either.
At odds of 1.22 it is buying money, a nice 2200 Euro profit for a days work; but its not until February though.
But as I always say;

yea online chat not reliable,since everybookie has payed out bet365 should.
I would have thought the odds would be less for the queen speech if it was on two channells but it was the same as every other so Im hopefull.

2350 Euro on Betfair exchange.

150 Euro on Betfairs sportsbook (max allowed).

I trickled on the 2350 on the exchange starting at odds of 3.0 and ending at 1.95 over 48 hours, in order not to cause market distortion and the odds to plummet.

As luck would have it, the fake Coral leak about the Queen announcing her abdication in her speech, worked in my favour, as he odds plummeted so fast it caused desirable market distortion for me. My odds on Mrs Brown's Boys held at an average of 2.0 while I trickled my bets on.

I got the 150 on sportsbook at 2.65

And the 2350 on exchange at 2.0

So after Betfair commission it was a net total of 2,800 profit on my 2,500 stake.

Bet365 are better as they have markets on less known games like Iceland so its better that way.

BARB produce 2 sets of figures.

One set on the 26th at 9.30am which are the overnight (average) figures.

Then another set 5th January 9.30am which are the cumulative (+1) figures.

In any case, Bet365 are settling on the basis of adding 2 show figures to give a total figure.

Whereas Betfair (and other bookies) are settling on the basis of taking the highest figure for each show.

Critically they are not using peak figures but average. For example, last year Dr Who would have won as it peaked at 10.2m, but they settled on Mrs Brown's Boys with an average of 9.4m

Often call centre workers for bookies will mistake the rules, and think peak means highest average figure. But actually peak and average mean two different things.

So lets get this straight.
Bet365 are better, yet they aren't settling your bet until BARB publish their figures on the 5th January?
When all the other bookies have settled on the market now.
They have some of the lowest odds on oddschecker across the board compared to all the bookies.
There isn't a market they cover, that isn't covered by Betfair; and often the same market is covered on both their exchange and sportsbook; so you can back bet without a capped limit.
And if that wasn't enough reason for you; Bet365 have some of the lowest cap limits on the market.
Honestly, I don't know anyone that would use them.
Betfair is the market leader, why use anything less?
