It was just cider or heroin when I was growing up in West Tallaght. :(

In West Tallafornia, born and raised
In the square shopping centre spent most of my days
Chilling out, smoking, toking, all cool
And all shootin' some gear outside of our school

When a couple of skobes who were up to no good
Started makin' trouble in my neighborhood
I got in one little scrap and me ma got wary
And said, "You're movin' with your aunty and uncle in Dun Leary"

Need to tweak Wary to Weary which works better on a rhyming and descriptive level.

    Word.

Limerick "city" is tiny , the official borders of the place are very small , a lot of what most people would consider the city is actually in County Limerick and not the city.
Factor in the suburbs/commuter belt areas that are in actually in Clare and Tipp and you get a much larger population figure.

Fair call, the county boundary isn't far from the river itself.
In saying that, the majority of the savory estates are in Limerick city itself.

A report was released online today naming Irelands's toughest estates...

The top 4 toughest areas in the report are all areas of Dublin with Neilstown in Clondalkin coming in at number 1, followed by Dublin 1 (the North inner City), followed by West Tallaght and then Sheepmor in Blanchardstown... Despite there also being decent hardworking families struggling to live and bring up families in these areas these places still are ranked as the toughest areas in the country...

This report was apparently from the Sunday World. I'm from clondalkin myself and Neilstown is a kip but it's nowhere there as bad as it was 10 years ago. I personally think this report is disgraceful, brings the area's down and gives it a bad name.

What do you make of this 'report'? Agree or disagree?

i would have at least expected moyross and darndale to be in the top 5

I had been to Moyross and O Malley Park about 5 years ago, it was pretty bad then, the worst places in Cork couldn't hold a light to those places.

Limerick is a great spot and its a shame a bunch of psychopaths tried to ruin the place. It's good to hear the communities and good people have made a drastic turn around.

I don't knew re estates but it is not just cities that have problems. I have been advised several times by locals NEVER to go near Kenmare at night and know of several men who ended up in hospital after assaults.

Kenmare? Are you for fcuckin real?
