Ok. I thought you were arguing against the feminist nature of this thread, but it seems you just have no idea about the concepts that underpin sports and competition. Flyweights fighting heavyweights? You haven't a notion.

I don't see how I have no idea just because I disagree, if you cant hold your own against the best guy I don't think you're at the top of your sport.

Boxing weights are like handicaps in golf yet you don't see a guy with a terrible handicap winning major tournaments the reasons lower weight boxing is popular is because it is highly competitive and well organised. That doesn't make it the top of the sport to me.

I wasn't arguing against the feminist nature of the thread, I was just saying it was a bad example of why feminism is needed, some women choose to compete without clothes because they want the extra money they aren't forced into it.

So you only watch CL and don't watch Premiership. Or in the same manner, judging by the last couple of years Laliga and Bundesliga have stronger teams so you are following them instead of Premiership? Just checking, how does only the top level work and what criteria you set every year to follow the right leagues. And presumably you don't follow gaa because it can't be a top level sport because of it's non professional nature.

I stand by my assessment of your understanding. And more, it's pretty obvious from the start of this whole thing that the issue was never with an individual's choice but with the societal implications of a "lingerie league."

Love this... Female game reviewer receives rape threats, contacts their mothers.

Nothing stopping the women getting up to a professional level of competing. Rugby is a physically demanding sport, if you don't have the physical prowess and muscle mass you just can't compete to the same level and therefore shouldn't get sponsored.

Except for the physical limitations on their bodies compared to their male counterparts who are able to gain a lot more muscle and strength (*naturally, without drugs*). I agree though, but there wouldn't be enough of them capable of competing at the same level to make it a worthwhile change and if you did away with all male and all female leagues in all sports there'd be hardly any female athletes. Don't think anyone would disagree that women can't compete with the top professional male athletes.

This seems to be the biggest female rugby player I could find

But even her I'd feel sorry for going up against players like this lol

We have decided not to reopen this thread. The original thread caused huge amounts of work and hassle for the mods. We attempted to start over by laying down some ground rules from the outset, but really we cannot stand over these rules any longer. We cannot facilitate posts which tar an entire gender, and by having a thread which does not allow posts to be challenged, this is what we are doing.

By all means, if there is a news story which you feel is worthy of a thread please feel free to start it, but please also remember that this is a discussion forum and while we won't allow whataboutery as per the charter, we cannot stop differing opinions from being expressed.
