Is the hurling league same format as last few year. Bottom 2 play off for relegation while top 4 from 1a and 1b play off.

    7.Brian O Driscoll (Tadhg MacCarthaigh)

    Subs:
    16. Ryan Price (O Donovan Rossa)
    17. Jamie O Sullivan (Bishopstown)
    18. Mark Collins (O Donovan Rossa)
    19. Bart Daly (Newmarket)
    20. Kevin Crowley (Millstreet)
    21. Killian O Hanlon (Kilshannig)

    24. Dan McEoin (Ilen Rovers)
    25. Seamus Hickey (Rockchapel)

O'Driscoll at 2 must be a serious option in the managements eyes now. Good to see Shields back. need to take this seriously or we'll be in trouble, Roscommon not a bad side at all.

He still has featured as a sub. So could still be in with a shout for cork.

Two match ban for cads is a joke. He always tries to take the game to the opposition. He'll be a loss v the dubs.

What team would ppl like to see v the dubs? Given that it's a must win we prob won't see much changes. I would like to see Ellis at midfield but with Walsh and Spillane out he prob be CB. Id like Collins to get a shout in goal too.
Can't see Kingston giving much new lads a run tho.
I think he'll go with something like

    Nash
    SON Joyce McDonnell
    Calahane Ellis McLouglin
    kearny Cooper
    Lehane Hogan Cronin
    Leahy O Farrell O Sullivan

Doubt any of that full-forward line will start. Lawton guaranteed starter.

    Shocking

Depressing. That's a scandalous score to ship, and at home to make it worse !

It's difficult to know what to say.
I genuinely thought the footballers would do better than the hurlers this year but at this stage it just looks like a race to the bottom and who will get relegated first!

Maybe the footballers should be sent hurling and the hurlers footballing to see what happens...

I was being purely observational that not since Wexford put five goals past Galway in Tuam around 10 years ago have we seen as way outside the norm trashing.
FWIW I thought Roscommon could win this game.

We've had good forwards for a few years, that's not our problem. Cork wanted to play football assuming they had more firepower but they didn't. There was little freakish about how it played out. Cork scored 19 points and should have had at least another goal. It was a game of football with both teams essentially playing man-to-man without a sweeper.

I wish more games were played as 'freakishly'.

In all fairness Cork nearly always want to play football. It's caused them some big losses recently.

However the lads here have been pointing out for a while that things in cork are not right.

Putting things into perspective Cork took a hammering from kildare last year. Their footballers have started the league well over the past couple of years possibly picking up points against teams that were a bit slow off the mark.

This year the league is being taken seriously by more teams than I can remember, roscommon quite rightly have their eye on it, Donegal are focused from the start etc.

Ironically it was Cork IMO that showed that a good league run was good preparation for championship for this current generation of players anyway.

Overall Cork have been in decline from looking unbeatable this time 5 years ago.

I can only imagine they'll turn it around.

Cork GAA is going so down hill, it's not funny.

    Youre right unfortunately

Footballers taking heat off hurlers this week :-|

Fitzgibbon a great spectacle on Saturday and not a Cork hurler in sight

Harnedy supposedly available for Saturday which is a positive but between injuries, cards and exams others cadogan, walsh, spillane, o sullivan all out

You'd have to say Kingston has had no rub of the green yet

Could be another dark day for Cork GAA this saturday. You'd hope threre would be a backlash from both teams after the last display... gone are the days when cork fans traveled with full confidence in their team. The hurling could be a dress rehersal for the relegation playoff.. Im afraid to think about the football..

Apparently SON and Connor O sullivan are out for game v dubs. Along with Walsh and Cads. Chance Harnedy could be back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73 ✭✭Corcaigh Abu1

the team i think Kingston will pick v the dubs.

    Nash
    Stephen Murphy Joyce MacDonnell

    Calahane Ellis McLoughlin

    Kearny Cooper

    Lehane Horgan Lawton

    Leahy Harnedy O farrell/Paudi

Id like to see Collins get a run in goal. Other than that given the injuries i cant see much changes. Maybe Moylan to start in the corner ahead of either Luke or Paudi. I think we can beat the dubs. We have a good record over them in CP. Hope we learned from the waterford game and dont wait till a player gets his nose broke before deciding to go and win the game. We badly need the win in both codes.

If anyone is interested I have two tickets going spare for the match(es) Saturday night (for nowt). They are in pdf format,I'll email them to whoever is first to send me a pm.
    Edit;they are taken

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 649 ✭✭✭DuffleBag

I got free tickets to the games saturday (not from the above poster) so that's the only reason i'm going, and im dreading it tbh. Both matches.

Like someone above, i would like to see Collins in goal. Time for a change, all over, lets start in goal and give him some valuable Croke Park experience.

CIT win the freshers tonight v DCU. 1 13 to 13 points. Anybody at the game? How did the cork lads go?
I read O'Keffe from Kanturk with 1.7. Collins was in goal.
