Here you got, if you put 23 people in a room there is a 50% chance two of them will have the same birthday.

Heres an actual boring, pointless fact

The Lexmark Z25 Colour printer has a sound emission of 44dB.

The potato was invented in Fermanagh in 1694 by Protestant Ascendancy plantation lord Archibald Potato when he successfully hybridized a crab apple with a chunk of tree bark. His initial attempts to mass produce his new creation in Ireland failed due to the insatiable appetite of his feckless Catholic serfs being so great that they ate about 90% of all potatoes grown. No punishment, however severe, could whet this appetite so Lord Potato needed an alternative.

The solution came when he contracted a Spanish multinational conquista-corporation to handle the growing of the potato in a location with a more docile labour force. The Spanish took Archibald Potato's entire crop and a large upfront service fee and sailed to South America. The Spaniards found the potato wholly unpalatable so upon arrival they promptly gave away the potatoes to a bunch of indigenous Peruvians and washed their hands of the entire endeavor. They then went in search of El Dorado and were never heard from again. At some stage in the following two years Archibald, while chasing what he believed to be a fairy through the woods of his estate, tripped and suffered a severe blow to the head from a nearby tree. The injury resulted in complete memory loss and in a cruel trick of fate the tree turned out to be the very one from which the potato spawning chunk of bark had originally come from.

Thus it came to be that all knowledge of the true origin of the potato was lost to history. Archibald was a lifelong recluse who was both obsessively secretive and had a phobia of all writing implements and of keeping records. He quickly became a forgotten man but his contributions to humanity truly do deserve recognition. Potato not only invented the revered vegetable that bears his name but he also invented free market globalisation when he pioneered the practice of outsourcing the production of goods to the third world to avail of a cheaper and more easily controlled workforce.

A beer in the hand is worth two in the Bush. :p

Here's one: the cutting head of a boring machine, which was used in New York to excavate new tunnels for Grand Central Station, is just going to stay down there forever under Park Avenue. It would cost more to remove it than it's worth, so, far-future archaeologists are in for a surprise.

From out there on the moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, ‘Look at that, you son of a bitch’.

I think that there are three of them under the English channel for the same reason.

All 'image searches' for the word 'watches' on thinterwebben will only show time pieces that have the time of 10:10.

This is just yer aul regular quantum time space entanglement combined triangulation between:
    i) 50mm lenses on default aperature running 3/4" sensors
ii) The quartz regular atomic cycle found inside most watches
iii) Time-space localisation tie-in of google hosting servers

    ...tis nothing to worry about...
