Plastidip fades too, go with gteq stuff

Definitely going with it now anyway. Small detail but makes a big change.

I don't sell it at all, himself was just talking about it and I had those bottles spare. I use the 1Ltr bottles myself.

Detailing Shed are going to be stocking Gtechniq in the near future.

Feck did you win the lotto. First giving away gtechniq, secondly buying litre bottles of it. I dread to think how Mich that costs

Passed a Nissan Leaf on my way to Portlaoise. Sitting inches from the arse of a truck. Ridiculous that you'd have to do that sort of carry on just make sure you get to your destination.

But think of the range! won't someone please think of the range!!!

Soo, I did about 18k miles last year in my 02 corolla. It did about 40ish mpg driving it like a nun. Using an mpg calc that worked out at about 2761 euro in fuel.

It cost me almost nothing in repairs.

If I was to do similar mileage next year. Is there anything that'd be worth changing to that'd be more economical/reliable?

Going by what you said, you'll more than likely be shooting yourself in the foot if changing due to reliability. That said, you really are in diesel territory.

Doing similar (slightly more) mileage myself averaged 43mpg last year, and spent €0 in repairs.
Aside from 2 oil changes, 4 plugs, air filter, rear discs and pads and a few bulbs, nothing else spent.
There's no way I'd change to diesel.

Had a nice drive in my golf there. Was out some of the twisty backroads I learned to drive on I haven't been on them in months but went out that way. Gave it a good blast to clear out the engine and I have to say it's hard to beat them turanzas now I have 4 on the car the way the car sticks to the roads going hard on bad bends is unreal like a train on tracks. Also a fox ran out on front of me at one stage and the new brake pads are working very well too :)

Thats good going. I have my golf 3 weeks off a year 30k km and I have kept a spreadsheet (sad I know) and every spend goes in that bar fuel, tax, insurance. 560 euro spent that's including parts for its service in two weeks time too.
    The main spends were
-2 services filters and oil all filters genuine vw parts
    -4 bridgestone tyres
-2 wheel caps (old ones fell off)
-front and rear wipers (vw OE ones)
-front and rear brake pads (vw parts)
Few other small bits like bulbs and stuff but that's it.

Tbh Id consider that a cheap year of motoring as everything replace was wear / service parts. I spent a lot more on the focus on its first trip to the mechanics.

Off the top of my head my car has cost me about 7/850

150 for the wishbone for the nct
    400 for the clutch job
Looking at about 2/300 for the snapped studs

Not bad if you ask me!

Not too bad really considering your including wishbones and a clutch which are major enough things. What the procedure for removing the snapped studs ?

Basically remove anything in the way, get a right angle drill and away you go, so the turbo pipes have to be moved, the dump valve, a few other bits and the power steering also, its just time consuming getting the studs out, because if they can't, its off with its head, and thats the last thing i need

If I won the lotto, I wouldn't be paying my car tax 3 months at a time :pac:

And I'd be driving a car with a true M badge on the back :D

Anyone around Cork going to the SqueakyClean meet on in Tesco Douglas today? Plan on going down after work at 3.

Yeah, my car isn't exactly clean or presentable for such a meet but I'll pop down for a sconce anyway I'd say.

So after a couple of months of constant vibrations when I tuoched the brakes I finally got to the problem.
Now... in my defense I had gone to a few places who told me that the brakes were fine.
Decided to hell with last week and bought a new set of discs and pads. Bastard is finally stopping without giving the wife a "crisis" :D
Still shag all else to say about the car for now, I wonder does that mean I've finally left the "jinxed gob****es" club?

Sounds like you had a warped brake disc maybe. Good to hear it's running well for you now :)

Ha not a whole lot of Cork these days! I'd feel like a traitor changing to Kilkenny.

On a different note, spotted another '13 640d today parked up outside the Pembroke Hotel. This one had tacky looking plates on it, ruined it for me a bit.

Met with GavMan earlier during the SqueakyClean car show, sound man and his ST is class! Nice to see a well specced Irish one too and Red as well!

With regards the show, lots of slammed VAG but a few class cars, a Chaser, Slammed Volvo 240 I think it was, a few tidy MX-5's and S-Chassis. All looking spotless of course!
