Gonna transfer Jones out - bring in Rojo or Rafael?

Has anyone decoded the transfer price rise/fall formula yet? It seems so much more unpredictable than last year and heavily in favour of price falls.

It may have been mentioned once or twice;)

there's no use in asking, the answer is nobody knows

My current defence is Debuchy, Pieters, Terry, Taylor and Wisdom but I'm looking to downgrade Debuchy.

I'm eying up the fixtures of Newcastle, Sunderland, Southampton and especially Stoke. So the usual 4.5m suspects are on the cards ... Coloccini, van Aanholt, Wilson or a 5m punt on Alderweireld.

I'm very tempted to double up on Stoke, for the short term as they have clean sheet potential.

Anyone want to sway my thinking?

    For whom?

Depending on team news sturridge Ramsey Dummett to balotelli hazard Clyne. I'd be making hazard captain so can justify that hit and the Clyne one I'd hope to make back over a few weeks. Alternatively if Costa is definitely fit ill probably just do a minus 4 and bring costa in for sturridge and Clyne for Dummett and make costa capt. I have Rvp but due to uncertainty of him starting I couldn't make him captain.

Sound's like a line from a Paul Brady song :-)

I think Sterling might be rested tomorrow. Liverpool have 5 games in 15 days coming up, and I suspect he may get a rest tomorrow. I will be keeping him in anyway but wouldn't be surprised if he is on the bench.

    Even with sturridge out?

Good spot, I should have put a few crotchets and quavers in with it.

I hate this kind of post (no offence:)) because no matter how nonsensical some of them seem they make you doubt yourself.

Yep, just reading between the lines. Rodgers was saying yesterday how we need to be careful, only 19, played 2 games for england last week etc..

As I said, just a hunch, I will keep him in anyway. Hopefully Rodgers can give him his rest midweek against Ludogorets. Lallana and Markovic are fit now and Coutinho who didn't play last week can come in so there are still option there with Sturridge out.

Doubt it. If ever there was a game to rest anyone it is on Tuesday in the CL home to Ludogorets.

This was the exact reason why prior to the spurs game I went with sturridge over sterling in my wildcard. Hasnt worked out well for me sterling scored, sturridge got injured and I missed out on sterlings price rise. I like you do think he will get the odd rest here and there but I think due to sturridge's injury, coutinho being off with brazil and allen a doubt he will start against villa and possibly get a rest midweek. Villa have also caused liverpool problems particularly in the middle the last few seasons so I think sterlings pace will be needed to stretch them.

Balotelli sounds risky to me. Too unpredictable in his head... But if he could get it right yeah he could be FF star.
If Costa's declared fit (but I guess we'll not know until we get the team sheet ...) I rate your second option much higher than the first. Just what does Ramsey become in your second option? Bench until we know more about how serious his injury is?

A forward for 8.0 or less to replace Jovetic this week. The same transfer I made last GW basically!

Thinking about Pelle (again) for 3/4 weeks while Welbeck gets up and running.

am i mad to consider a -4 to get in Wilson this week? defense this week stands as Ivan, Clyne, and Dummett(doubtful), with Rio and Hutton in reserve (neither promising). not the kind of -4 i'd usually take but at the same time Stoke just kept a cleanie away to City and their fixtures are very attractive for the medium-term so having no coverage there would worry me

Well.... you're going to love this :)

I'm seriously thinking about a Costa -> Mario switch.
I can see why Jose would throw Costa in for the Everton game (with the 2 week international break coming up and plenty of time to nurse him if it went wrong) but I just can't see why he'd take a risk on him this weekend ahead of a big midweek CL game.

That, and I've a feeling Mario is going to go a good kinda nuts on his home debut.

So, I'm predicting a Costa no show unless he's needed to be brought on for the final 20-25mins.

A funny thing, because I don't have Costa I love posts of that sort;):pac:

Have played the wildcard and gone with this team. Would appreciate any suggestions.
    Krul Elliot
    Clyne Hutton Terry Taylor Wilson
    Fabregas King Ramsey Sterling Siggy
    Welbeck Costa Aguero

Would it be worth downgrading Terry to Azpil and using the cash to further improve the back or gk position?

I'd be interested in people's thinking on Wilson generally - seems great value for 4.5m but how much to a threat to his starting place is Huth?

VERY similar to what I'm looking at settling on. Personally I don't like going so cheap on GK - I've gone for Colo in defence instead but he'll be rotated. Having to rely on Newcastle every week in goal doesn't do it for me. Maybe go Krul/Clyne to Forster/Coloccini?

I reckon he's fairly safe, for now anyway. Can't see Hughes changing any of a back 4 that didn't concede at the Etihad last match. Thought he played well for Ireland too

It shows a picture of Sczsczsczsczezny kicking the ball in training with Ramsey loitering in the background (i.e. taking part in training). Caption is "Aaron Ramsey took part in training today ahead of #mcfc tomorrow."

I though he was very poor for Ireland, but yeah, seems safe for Stoke for now. I'd have expected Huth to come back in by now but no sign of it.
