With just over 36 hrs to go of the WC we are looking like this...

    Guzan Krul

    Coleman Wisdom Fonte Williams Davies

    Sterling Downing Ramsey Schneiderlin Sigurdsson

    Welbeck Naismith Costa

7.2 in the bank, but would like to keep that to bring back Sturridge, and Rooney, or bring in Falco.

    Anything else?

Wegner says that he would not have bought Welbeck if he was in the country on deadline day.

    On Ramsey.....

"His ankle injury will be assessed today, he has a little chance of playing on Saturday," said Wenger.

A little chance:confused: - not something I wanted to hear before the game.

Considering benching Ramsey and playing Naismith away to West Brom.

Cue a tirade of drop-Ramsey-at-your-peril posts...

cant decide on which keepers going forward- (on WC)
Krul/ Manone good rotation for season- 9m
Begovic/ McCarthy- fancy stoke and mccarthy looks like only 4mil option

Just listening to the actual interview with Wenger and I think those headlines in the article are totally not reflecting what he was saying. He was answering criticism of being away on deadline day and seemed to be saying that the Wellbeck signing actually came about in some way as a result of his trip, mentioning a coincidence. Nowhere does he say he wouldn't have signed him if he was in the country, he says "if I'd stayed at home we would not have signed him" as in we'd have missed out on it.

Crazy slant being put on it in the article IMO.

Is it worth going with a potential starting 9 players (3 subs wont play and Jones and Costa maybe out) or use a -4 for Jones?

    Starting XI is

    Begovic

    Azpilicueta
    Chambers
    Jones
    Lovren

    Fabregas
    Mata
    Sanchez

    Costa
    Welbeck
    Rooney

Depends how long Jones is out for - if it's a few weeks it might be worth the hit.

I dunno who your quoting there, but if's it's Wenger, have you not just contradicted your first point?

Confusing when written down admittedly. :) you need to listen to the interview on the BBC link.

But I think you'll find if you'd continued your bold print to include the last 8 words of my sentence it does make more sense.

Not 'wouldn't have signed him' as in 'I'd have prevented it happening. 'Wouldn't have signed him' as in we would not have achieved the successful outcome of signing him. English is a great language really.....

I just don't understand how him being in the country could have resulted on them missing out on signing him?! Am I missing something?

It seems as if he's saying that he did some business as a result of being where he was which he would not otherwise been in a position to do had he stayed at home.

That is absolutely my last attempt at explaining my reading of it..if you still don't get me it must be just me... :)

    From the article:
Wenger said: "If I'd stayed at home he wouldn't be here now."

He refused to elaborate on that but added he initially wanted Welbeck on loan with an option to buy.

However, Wenger said he was "happy" to make the transfer permanent - though he would not reveal whether Welbeck will start against Manchester City on Saturday.

"I cannot tell you if Welbeck will start but it's a possibility. I have to assess the squad," said the Frenchman.

Edit: well dammit. I was wrong.
sounds like he was saying that because he was travelling he was up earlier than he usually was and had the full day. Also said that with modern tech you are in touch with everyone no matter where you are.

Not to mention the 2 hours extension he needed to complete the deal.

His stubborness is something I can't understand really.

With Yoshida a doubt, any suggestions for a good cheap lad between 4.5 and 4.8?? Already have Moore and Duff as backup

James Chester of Hull, will be first choice with Dawson.

Who do you think would be a better combination.. Sterling and Rooney or Mata and Balotelli?
I'd rather have coverage for both teams.

Sterling and Falcao if budget allows. It's a tough one as we don't know what way Utd will line up but there is a chance mata will not start and that Rooney will be deeper. The only way rooney will interest me is if it's him and Falcao up top as roo will still be on pens then. Then there is also the chance that Falcao will be eased in. I can't see roo RVP mata adm and Falcao all start so will be interesting to see who misses out. Apologies as if left you with more questions than answers.

James Chester is no certainty to get the better of Curtis Davies

Hull play 3 CBs a lot of the time.

Have avoided this thread like the plague after i knee jerked and took a t hit to avoid price rises at the beginning of the International break.

Rooney --> Costa (c) (doubtful, but I'm hopeful :pac:)
    Jovetic --> Aguero (vc)

Taking a hit the week after wildcarding... :o

Can see them moving away from that with their new signings.

He has gone up, despite no real solid news on his availability. I will probably be bringing him in but not until after the press conference/the last possible minute if needs be.

if you have already made 4 transfers on Wednesday but now decide you want to use the wildcard do you get them points back?

    Yeah.

Just find Costa a very strange case. (I have him)
    GW2 98,000 Transfers
    Up by 0.1m
    GW3 -155,000 Transfers
    down by 0.1m

Now he is up 0.2m, must have about 500,000 transfers in

Costa is unusual alright. Has he achieved both of those price rises while on a yellow flag or is it just the one?? I can't recall a player receiving so many transfers in while on a yellow. I got burned last week by not including him in my wildcard team and to be honest I will need Mourinho to be quite uncategoric if I am to bring him in for tomorrow. Have we seen pictures of him in full training or anything?
