They stock bottled orphan tears. Perfect to wash down spring rolls with.

Did you eat them straight out of the freezer?

It may have been down to Aldi's little know secret ingredient..

Great for hopping off lads heads, leave them frozen to be an added cnut.

Pro tip, don't get the ones in Dunnes. They are appalling.

The ones in Aldi are on par with the Chinese. Glad you enjoyed them. But the ones in Dunnes, seriously governor, no no no. I bought them 4 times thinking I just got a bad batch.

    But nope, just sh!t.

For some reason from your OP I had visions of you in Aldi tearing open boxes of frozen food and noshing into the contents. Nevermind me.:p

If you think eating high-fat, high-simple carb, pre-made, frozen and full-of-additives spring rolls is a good idea, then knock yourself out.

Personally I would make my own Fresh Vietnamese Shrimp rolls using freshly bought ingredients from my local Asian goods store and vegetable market. They taste much better, are much healthier and you won't feel disgusting after, like you do with cheap nasty pre-made food.

How do you microwave them?, two minutes on full whack?

    Vietnamese Shrimp!?!??!
loike, omg, how can you put that disgusting food into your human temple. Vietnamese is loike in Africa or something. Loike, where that abola flu is happening.

I only eat free range. I pity all you people. Now excuse me I have to do some blow before I go out and get rodgered in the toilets later.

You sound rather manic. Lay off the booze my friend. You're making no sense.

The Vietnamese part refers to the 'roll'. Its a style of fresh spring roll that isn't deep fried.

But nice try on the come back. I would give it 4/10 :p

Mine were cooked in the oven, I don't own a deep fat fryer, you should perhaps know what you are talking about before being so critical

There is so much oil in the spring roll sheet that its essentially being deep fried even when you oven cook them.

You asked for nice alternatives to Aldi Spring Rolls. I gave one. No need for all the anger.

I like the Aldi duck rolls with hoi sin sauce. There must be full of meth or something, ****in addictive.

I'm actually frothing at the gash here thinking of what I would do to one of them right now. Are there any 24h Aldi's?

For why, may I ask

Are these spring rolls of which you all speak so highly a special at the moment, or regular stock in Aldi? I'd be partial to an auld spring roll every now and then, and if these are very tasty then I'll be heading there very soon!

D'ya know what is really tasty and for some reason you can't get it in Aldi or Supervalu anymore..........Silverhill crispy duck with pancakes and hoisin sauce, or any of their prepared range for the matter. The only choice available from Silverhill now is pre-packed uncooked duck breast, which is a shame imo.

I much prefer to buy direct from sources. Where I live here in Germany there are weekly farmer's markets. I prepare all my food from scratch (well, my OH often prepares my meals for me, due to my working hours) but it is almost always locally sourced, fresh ingredients.

Somewhere like Aldi with all its pre-packaged, frozen, junk food doesn't appeal to me.

I earn enough money that I am not forced to buy cheaply from the large discounters.

I got that recently from their farm shop in Emyvale - and it was bloody GORGEOUS!!!

Hadn't noticed it in supermarkets, but next time I'm passing through Monaghan I'm going to buy a freezer-full of it :D

LOL I thought your original post about making our own was tongue in cheek, but you are for real! Yes, it is nice to make food from scratch and buy fresh locally produced food etc but most people have jobs, families, a social life, exercise etc and don't have time to prepare all food from scratch. Sometimes it is nice to just have a frigging spring roll that didn't take a lot of planning and labour! Oh dear.

I never buy these arguments. I work long hours on the cutting edge of European Finance. I can assure you, its a busy job, with long hours. Yet I ALWAYS find the time to cook healthily with actual food, and have time to exercise and keep in good shape. Granted I don't have children, but its not like they can take up too much time considering how early they go to bed.

In my experience when people say they don't have enough time as an excuse for eating that kind of crap its just an excuse for laziness.
