Is there anyone doing this going for drinks after? Last year there was a great Tri table (may have been magnified because Dory was over) in McGrattans, and it was good fun. Anyone going again?

    He did specify running race!

  • Registered Users Posts: 263 ✭✭Mr Tango

    He did specify running race!

He did. But we have inly done one run race together and that was last month half in the park.

We might run together tomoro till he drops me. Wont be foolish enough to try and stick tho. I know my limitatons.

If only i could drop a 3.8k swim and 180k bike in front of the run i might stand a chance!!

Guess who is tracking the sub3 pace train?

Ouch, that didn't last. Looks like a tough day out there for Dave, but he's probably too stubborn not to battle on to the finish.

Tango still going well. A wee bit off target at 30k.

kingQuez - finished with a pb just missing the sub 2:55.

    Dave battling on.

4: 20 now on the clock. He's either walked off the course, collapsed...or by god he's still soldiering on.

    Ouch.

Dave Tunney may be many things, but by god he is no quitter. Props for staying with it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,583 ✭✭✭✭tunney

Yes I went off too fast. I expected to blow about 30km.

Instead my ITB went at 19km, I tried to alter my gait to compensate but in the end had to hobble like an old man once both knees went.

Great support on the course much more than my last one eight years ago.

New course though.... Too tight and twisty in the first three miles.

Another sufferfest, albeit one with much more reflection on who I am and what I need to do to be the father and husband I want to be.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,583 ✭✭✭✭tunney

Thanks to all the boardsies support on the course today.

  • Registered Users Posts: 263 ✭✭Mr Tango

Tough day. Much harder than last yr. 3.18. 6 mins slower than last yr but all i gad on the day.

Great support on the course. Fair play dave. Thats two sufferfests in 3 months. None of that fir whatever u do nxt yr!!!

  • Subscribers Posts: 19,425 ✭✭✭✭Oryx

Everyone I tracked had much slower times than anticipated. Does seem a tough day out today.

  • Registered Users Posts: 431 ✭✭boysinblack

4.20 having never run more than 10k, happy out with myself!! Loved the atmosphere now to actually train for an ironman :)

Well done all on DCM, always great achievement. Even if tough day at office.

Tough, tough day out there today. Ran down to 10.5 miles and thought 'bloody hell am I glad I'm not doing a marathon today'

Warm and windy. Not the best marathon conditions. Didn't talk to many today who hit their target, many about 10 mins out!

Dave you're one stubborn bastard. Was actually looking out for you at the 3 hour mark, expected you to pop up before Tango!
