Just bought this today. So far, it was going grand with a mere population of 2.8k and then I started going bankrupt because of the dead bodies littering all over my city.

Tried again with a different set up but still the same thing.. Any idea what to do? I've built 8 cemeteries and 4 crematoriums but no success..

Right, well with a population of 2.8k you should never need more than 1 cemetery. So lets trouble shoot.
    1. Is it connected to a road?
    2. Is that road two way the whole way
    3. Is it connected to power?
    4. Is it connected to water?
    5. Is there a gridlock in your city preventing your hearses from picking up the dead
    6. Are their sections of your city not connected to that road

If all of those fail, please post a screenshot and I will have a look. If this is your only money problem, you're doing okay.

Can't read what's on the screen in that photo. One thing I can think of is that under Linux / Windows, with a mobile NVidia GPU this game defaults to integrated graphics. You have to manually tell Optimus to use the dedicated card.

AFAIK Macbooks don't use Optimus, but it might be worth checking whatever the Apple equivalent is and see what it's doing.

Seem to remember reading something about that issue. I think you have to disable steam overlay in the game and it'll work.

I bought this too today :-). Played it a few times and kept running outta money at the start before I could build the city fully and grow the population. I find it absolutely brilliant, much better than I was expecting. I plan to spend most of tomorrow playing it.

One thing I don't like is that the writing on chirper isn't very big nor are the tutorials. I couldn't seem to find the setting to adjust that.

Also when you get further on can you expand your city, use another tile?

By default you can purchase an additional 8 tiles, giving your city a total land area of 36km^2, there is an unlock in the steam workshop allowing you to purchase all 25 tiles, giving you 100km^2

I think you need to learn how to take a screenshot Samapple. And it might be time to ditch the CRT in the background. :)

Did anyone get a good look at the map of Los Santos/San Andreas from GTA V? Some talent from this person. I could never do something as accurate as this.

Ok did the above suggestions on a new city. Worked better and managed to get up to 82,000 population with 3m cash.

After that, I attempted to get the Fusion Power Plant and for one of the prerequisites I need to have 1000 abandoned buildings in my city. Now with the autobuldozer working it would take a long time to do so I raised the taxes to 29%. Quickly enough, I got it but I couldn't recover as I was in 2.8m in debt and no matter what I cut, I'm still losing money. Turned off all of my money-eating buildings such as harbours, airport, trains, incinerators, solar power and water/sewer pumps. Population went from 82k to 200 in minutes but after dropping the taxes down to 9% for all, I got 12k back in the city but lost them all for some reason..

Guess I have to make a new city :(

Spent the best part of 8 hours playing this today. Think I'll have to invest in a proper gaming pc in the next few months. Starting to get the hang of it now. The city has 10k population and a few problems that are fixable. I really need to improve my design skills. I have zones all over the place. Is there anyway to get rid of ground pollution?

I find that if you move the buildings that causes ground pollution away from it, it eventually goes away.

Are there anyone here after trying out the "terrain.party" tool? How do I know if the squares are accurate to that of the game's size? I'm trying to get an exact replica of the area surrounding the centre and outskirts of Glasgow's East Side and it's becoming problematic.

In other words, what's the correct km?

    Here's a screenshot;

    Here's a screenshot;

Looks about right to me. The game takes an 18km x 18km terrain map. Each of the grid squares is 2km x 2km. The playable area ends up being the middle 5x5 squares (10km x 10km), with the rest being the unplayable border.

Make sure whatever you want to be able to build on is not within the outer two rows on any side.

The first map I have made
used terrain.party to import the map and then fixed the errors with the height and added other bits and pieces needed to make it Dublin and make it work with City Skylines
you might want to use the 25 square unlock to get the full map.

    Google Link to Dublin map

    Enjoy

saw your request on the workshop for Waterford and Cork
someone has done one for Cork, I have not played it yet but it looks good from the screen shot.
but if think I improve or add any thing I might make a Cork one

    as for Waterford :)

Link to map I made of Waterford. let me know if anything is wrong or that i can improve as i only had Terrain.party and google maps to go by.

one other thing, you can play them without the 25 square unlock but if i think they work better with all the squares unlocked.

    Limerick
I had to hand draw all the rivers as terrain.party does not see then.
I made the mouth of the river a little bit bigger to allow shipping lanes.

That's great work, thanks! I'm impressed and will get plenty of game time out of this.

    Keep it up!
