Could this be the new look RTÉ it seems that Pirahna Bar who have previously worked on RTÉ TWO's identity in previous years. Pitched this idea to RTÉ a few months back... I don't think it works a similar idea has used on television in France and Portugal....

They seem to have cut back RTE Junior, TRTE is now on from 7-9 am and again from about 1.15pm.

Think that RTÉjr during school weeks is only ever on between 9am to around 13:15 maybe up to 14:30. Anyway the whole issue is a joke.

It was running 7am-2.30 pm last season.

are they finally abandoning the idea of having kiddies programmes on RTE 2 and RTE junior simultaneously during the morning?
Can't see why they would want to abandon that. You actually need 3 channels to cater for the different age groups. As RTE have it at the moment, teenage cartoons are on rte2 while junior cartoons are on rte junior. They're missing out on the baby cartoons, which from what I can see get some air time on rte junior, at which point the younger\toddler kids have nothing to watch.

What would you prefer to see on RTE2 from 7am-10am. Church services?

Again the Minister has to sign off on the move of RTÉjr from RTÉ TWO he and his predecessor have not done so. http://cce.gno.ie/news/2014/07JUL/07rtejr.php

Under the act RTÉ cannot change their schedule on any channel for more than 30days but that rule does seem to apply for the last 60 days, as I said stupidity reigns.

nope, look at next Tuesday at 10.30am for instance.
On RTE 2 Fireman Sam followed by Peppa pig
On RTE junior youre half ways through a back to back Postman Pat
Both aimed at younger kids and scheduled by the national broadcaster in their wisdom against each other.

I agree it'd be useful to have a younger and older kids programming completely separate.
But as it is now they are wasting TV licence payer's cash in scheduling 2 channels with pre school programmes head to head.

Any you can blame the Department of Comms on that.

With RTÉ ONE getting a new font for the ONE part of the logo, and a rounded HD box (although this hasn't yet been changed on RTÉ ONE+1  ), will TWO get a change in font to highlight their new look too, or is it essentially the same logo, the same green colour scheme just new idents and end boards? The mock up videos on Vimeo posted earlier are incredibly boring and uninspired. If this is an idea of how the relaunch will look, consider me still bored.

I have an irrational hated for the people in RTÉ who don't fix the small things like the RTÉ 1/2 logo.., the one that really annoys me is the sky EPG RTÉ One and RTÉ TWO - ffs make your mind up ...

I'd say that is Sky's issue. Do they call it BBC ONE or BBC one ?

Those mocks are from before the last update.

IMO It will be 2 with a small box in the corner saying RTÉ TWO with the new RTÉ ONE font.

Three-part series Meet the McDonaghs follows Kelly McDonagh and her family, providing an insight into the unique Traveller culture and their attitudes to love, religion, morality, education and family.

Norah Casey heads up a new series Norah's Traveller Academy

    Well played RTE........ *slow clap.
Monkey tennis and Youth-hostelling with Chris Eubank can't be too far away now.
Eoghan McDermott hosts a two-part science-bases series Drunk, which explores the effects of alcohol on the body and the mind.

Channel 4's Drugs Live only with more cabbage.

I love reading articles saying that channels "have lost their focus" and the likes, surely it regained it's focus the last time it was rebranded? The problem lies with the people in charge and the crap decisions they made in running the station, not the look it has. Call it whatever you want, unless the programmes change, it'll fail to improve anything really...

Considering it's going back to RTÉ 2, lord only knows what that'll look like in a DOG on screen. I wonder if they'll take the opportunity to fix the RTÉ ONE+1 DOG or the Sky/DTT listings which have them in an array of all caps or only first letter capitalised etc. Look like you're making an effort and give a damn, guys!
