People need to hold America responsible for what is happening in Gaza too. They are the great enabler. If people started boycotting american goods in any significant way over this they would drop Israel like a hot stone.

    Its double standards,

Many Tottenham fans maintain a Jewish identity, and the Israeli flag is a familiar sight on the sidelines. It's a similar phenomenon to what one sees among Ajax Amsterdam fans in the Netherlands. Fans there have dubbed their club "Super Jews" and sing songs with lyrics such as, "Anyone who doesn't jump isn't a Jew." Some fans even have tattoos of the Star of David.

Yep, it's all too easy. A 7 storey office block and a 2 storey shopping mall were obliterated yesterday as according to the Israeli ITF (T=Terrorist) "both buildings contained facilities linked to militants", though no further details were provided.:rolleyes:

They have also warned Palestinian civilians to evacuate out of areas used by "militants". Just where the fup are they supposed to evacuate to?:confused:

Here is an interview between J.J Goldberg (the author of the above article) and Ali Abunimah of Electronic Intifada.

Now,in fairness, J.J Goldberg author of the quoted article is not the most unreasonable apologist for Israel that has darkened the door of humanity, but as is shown here he has some way to go before he sees that any distortion, lies and euphemisms are no longer acceptable. However you get the sense that he knows this as is shown by his discomfort, as at heart I think he's a decent man trying to defend the indefensible. I think it's clear that there are large cracks appearing in the US.

As an example look at this video which is quite funny because just as they think they've got rid of one bunch of protesters...

Jewish Voice for Peace-Chicago disrupt Stand with Israel fundraiser

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98LkxgwxjXE

Here is a very interesting video highlighting more of the actions undertaken by JVP.

"On August 6, Rabbi Susan Talve of the Central Reform Congregation invited five members of Jewish Voice for Peace to express their opposition to the Gaza massacre in her sanctuary. I have been very critical of Talve for serving as a conduit for AIPAC’s rightwing garbage, but she must be celebrated for inviting these Jews into her shul after she saw the local Jewish Federations giving JVP the bums rush."

‘We made a mistake. There is a sickness inside our community’ — Jacob Ari Labendz in the synagogue

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQJMjTCIexU

"Data also show that our youths tend not to identify strongly with Israel. Its simple nationalism alienates those of us who think about belonging on more nuanced terms. Israel has driven us into the streets to protest atrocities carried our in our name and without our consent. And there, heartbreakingly, we face counter-protests from our own community in defense of occupation, in support of the ethnic division of society, and, this time, in favor of a bloody war of choice. If we have placed Israel at the center of our identities and if Israel now stands on the wrong side of history, what future can we expect? Support for Israeli politics–even if accompanied by prayers for peace–threatens to extinguish much of what is worthy of preserving in our tradition. If we do not speak, we risk not only complicity, but the alienation of future our generations."

Here is the article with the context and transcript of the speech.

I'd sooner believe the words uttered from the mouth of Satan, than the military wing of Zionism. The latest key piece of civilian infrastructure attacked, was an important food market place and business area in Gaza. It was an attack purely designed to increase suffering, particularly the economic suffering in Gaza. And their crimes keep mounting.

Seems a bit odd that there were two camera men in postition to watch the strike. Unless Israel warned everyone the strike was coming which makes the strike a bit pointless as the people they're trying to kill can just flee before the strike.

The point is to inflict suffering on the civilian population, really. Blowing up homes is a good way to do so.

Yet you think it ironic they will sign up to the ICC while Israel won't ? Given the acts, the attempts at diplomacy the view of the UN resolutions its becoming ever more apparent to the world that while certain people argue Hamas and Palestinians are the terrorists its Israel that are the major problem here not the Palestinians.

Not really, ICC would never get a conviction against Hamas either. It's not as if Hamas have a central archive of military records which keeps unit identifiers, gun cameras, operations orders, targeting orders etc. How would one go about identifying a suspect, and then obtaining evidence to charge? It's a political offer which seems devoid of practical effect.

I sent loads of e-mails to both the Israeli and U.S. embassies regarding the conflict and their part in it and neither had the decency to reply. I would agree with boycotting their goods and have being doing this already.

In case it was not clear, I am in no way condoning this atrocity. I think it is absolutely horrendous that all that is needed is for Israel's ITF to announce that a building has links to "Militants" so that they can obliterate it and the world says nothing.:mad::mad::mad::mad:

This was yet another War Crime, as targeting the offices on the Hamas interior ministry (government office) cannot be considered as a military target, unless they have resistance fighters firing from the windows. And the shopping center was just evil for evils sake and nothing else.

Also the crap about the civilians vacating anywhere the militants might be active. Vacate to f&*king where???:mad::mad::mad::mad:

No, but the IDF do and since the vast majority of atrocities and breaches of the Geneva Convention throughout the years has come from them. I don't think the ICC would be to dissuaded.

    Not really what ?

The chances of conviction don't change the fact that simply signing up to the jurisdiction of the ICC is a huge step forward. Both for the Palestinian people in taking this conflict beyond violence and into the realm of international courts. And it will free all ICC member states of the gag the US has placed on them by not allowing the UN to determine what has been happening in this conflict.

An Israeli Soldier's Story - Eran Efrati

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93hqlmrZKd8

Eran Efrati, 28, was born and raised in Jerusalem. After graduating high school he enlisted in the IDF, where he served as a combat soldier and company sergeant in Battalion 50 of the Nachal Division. He spent most of his service in Hebron and throughout the West Bank. ....

    http://www.soldierandrefusenik.com/

His father having served in the military is now a chief investigator in the Jerusalem police. This is a very emotional and heartfelt account of his upbringing and experiences as a soldier. He also raises some pertinent warnings to the US citizenry about the collaboration between the American police forces and the Israeli army and the fate that may await them if they ignore,as a retired colonel in the US marines has pointed out recently, the creation of a domestic army on American soil.

The ceasefire being proposed by Egypt..
17:12: Cairo is awaiting an Israeli response on an Egyptian proposal to secure a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, Egyptian sources told Ma’an.The proposal includes opening the Rafah crossing, expanding the fishing area to six miles and opening Gaza’s trade crossings to allow reconstructing the enclave.

The sources added that Egypt presented the ceasefire proposal to Israel on Monday and that Israel promised to respond. Israeli officials showed “initial acceptance,” one source said.

    http://jpupdates.com/2014/08/25/live-blog-israelunderfire-hamas-willing-accept-new-cease-fire-proposal/
In the fishing sector, the three nautical miles limit enforced by the blockade inhibits fishermen from catching sardines, which are usually found five to eight miles offshore. The sardine market used to represent the main element of the Gaza fishery. The potential catch lost as a result of access restrictions is estimated at approximately 7,000 metric tons, with a related income loss of some USD 26.5 million over a period of five years.

Very nice of them to let the fishermen in by a mile of the good fishing area.

    Rubble bucket challenge anyone?

    http://www.jpost.com/Middle-East/From-Jordan-to-Morocco-the-pro-Gaza-Rubble-Bucket-challenge-goes-viral-372129
The trend quickly caught on in, and beyond, Gaza.

Among those taking the challenge include Jordanian comedian Mohammed Darwaza, who said it enabled him to feel the pain felt by children in Gaza. :(

I'll be interested to see how far and wide this spreads..
