    Maybe. No. Probably.

I have banked my transfer for this week, going to do a risky jobby on it as i fell far short of expectations last week, going to Captain Mata, reasoning......

    A) Mata was on fine form pre-season hopefully Swansea was just a blip.
    B) His set pieces and crossing were great on the weekend just needed someone on the end of them.
    C) Pressure on his place with Angel Di Maria coming in.
    D) He could easily nick two this weekend or indeed in any of uniteds next fixtures.

Granted if I captain him Rooney looses out and if he goes goal wild (which also could happen) i may lose out. But I just think Mata has alot to prove but also has the ability to do it.

    A) I'm hoping the same
    B) they were ok, but if RVP is back he will take some of the set pieces
    C) Di Maria going to PSG has no effect on Mata :)
    D) that is the hope.

If it was me I'd captain Costa or Rooney. Too early in the season for risky captain moves when there are clearly better options available.

Im thinkin of bring in Kane in GW4.
He played only 10mins last week and did very well when he came on, getting an assist and Spurs looked more confident. He also bagged a goal last night in the Europa league (as did Soldado...but Kane got the winner). He featured to a small extent towards the end of last season and also did quite well. I can see him making some sub appearances until GW4.

After Spurs play LFC, Im an LFC fan but looking at it objectively I think LFC should win and also should not concede. Kane will be given a chance to prove himself capable of producing in the premier league against weaker opposition (Sunderland) and all going according to plan, he should start against West Brom. I know this is all "if's and buts", but i think the guy will show his worth this season.

If you are currently playing with 2 strikers, (which I am, I doubt many are) hes fairly risk free to have on your bench at 5m and with only 25,000 people owning him has the potential to make some points and money.

This is all theory and feelings. There is no science to this whatsoever, i am not ITK, these are just my opinions. Feel free to burst my bubble (especially Spurs fans).

You've too much tied up in defence and not enough in your attackers. If it was me I'd take out Cahill or Terry this week for someone cheaper and then upgrade an attacker. Bony is a decent pick but you're still missing out on having 2 of Costa/Sturridge/Rooney that most people have now.

I'd probably go Cahill to Hutton because even though Villa have poor fixtures coming up you'll rarely play your 5th defender and you'll have Kompany and Terry playing every week with one of Coloccini/Bruce/Hutton.

That'll free up 2 million to upgrade an attacker.

Just looking at the top 5 players according to the FFS Hall of Fame. It's interesting to see how many have gone for a combination of keepers which cost 8.5 mil.

Most have also cheaped out on defence and gone with the current big three up top of Rooney, Sturridge and Costa.

I don't think I saw one Chelsea defender in the top 5 teams!

That was my plan until a last minute wobble at 11 last sat. I may well wildcard after GW3 to get back there too.

I'm thinking I may dump Terry for someone cheap. That would leave Caulker as my most expensive defender at 5 mil.

I have 3 mil banked so Terry out for even Taylor of Swansea leaves me with 5 mil.

That would leave me with the cash to upgrade Rooney to RVP and Fletcher to someone 8.5 like Bony.

Or I could keep Rooney and free up a little extra for Fletch to Aguero.

Had a decent week last week, 57 points and decided to bank my transfer. Feeling reasonably confident this GW but kinda stumped about next week.

    r6TdTT9.png

Thinking of bringing in Bertrand for Terry to free up funds and Southampton have decent fixtures coming up. I had Siggurdson until the night before GW1 but went for Eriksen which aside from the regret of not having the points would have allowed me to upgrade Bojan after my proposed Terry transfer but as of right now I have nothing in the bank but the relative luxury of 2 FTs. Feedback would be appreciated.

Have you a link to that article or is it only for paying people?

It's not an article. The Hall of Fame is a page on FFS that rates people according to their ranking over the years. I've just had a look at these teams myself and made some notes.

You don't need to be a member either.

Although villa don't have great opening fixtures, I expect them to be a lot more tight at the back this season.

    Guzan is a decent keeper

Vlaar and the returning Okore are a massive step up on Clark and Baker. Cissisoko at LB will be an improvement also. Hutton and lowton to fight it out for the RB spot. Added to this hopefully will be the signing of Sanchez who will be a massive improvement as the DM

Hope some people got on this, look very solid at the minute

Gamble paid off.... Removed the captaincy from rooney gave it to Mata and in return he gave me 20 points.... I have been travelling today and missed the games.... Still have a few players left to go tomorrow and I have already passed last week's score... Happy days

First time poster, long time lurker.

Hi looking for a little help. Pretty happy with nucleus of team, but bojan and Albrighton not happening. Plus I've lost 0.1 on Cameron. 1 ft this week, don't usually like to take hits but do occasionally. Any ideas??? 1m in the bank.

    Sterling, siggy, cesc, Ramsey, Albrighton

I'd ditch degea. You can get a better keeper for less and use the remainder elsehwhere. Utd's defence is weak with no signs of getting stronger and he's still not world class.

Think it's about time for a bit of FSA feedback on things now that my week 2 is over.

Currently my team (with this weeks transfer made) is

    Courtois, Gilks
Coloccini, Van Aanholt, Clyne, Hutton, Caulker
    Mata, Fabregas, Siggy, Ramsey, Albrighton
    Rooney, Costa, Feltcher
    3.0m in bank.
113 points, 146k overall but will drop after tomorrow's game and auto subs.

My main concerns in order are:
Caulker, 5m for a QPR defender, what were we thinking lads!? QPR look pretty bad at the back, despite being close to scoring again today a couple of times today I think he has to go probably for somebody at 4.5 or less to leave funds for the attack. Hoping people have other priorities though as could do without losing money on him.
Fletcher. Sunderland don't look like scoring loads, and Fletcher has not stood out yet. Probably worth giving him another week given they are playing the aforementioned QPR. Not too many good options for the cheap third striker strategy.
Man United. Mata will hopefully stop haemorrhaging value now at least, and is probably the best United attacker to have for now, may look at Rooney to Sturridge in next couple of weeks.

Overall I think this team is on good enough shape, my main mistake was going Sanchez over Ramsey and is now corrected. My main strength was my subs and rotating defenders who have been solid enough. Certainly no urgency to wildcard and my intention would be to try to keep it, especially as the team value benefits of playing it early seem to have been somewhat eroded by the changes in price rise rules, not to mention the difficulty the price change prediction sites are having.

My main decision is whether to use my surplus cash to upgrade the third striker to a 7.0 to 9.0 players (possibly upgrading Rooney to Aguero or Studge) or to upgrade the 5th mid to an 8m player such as Lamella, who was a preseason fave of mine and who I'd love to get in my team....

Any thoughts on team or strategy would be helpful as ever....

I still think Albrighton is a great 4.5 option. Made his return from injury in the Chelsea game and from the highlights seemed to be involved and looked decent.

Agree with the previous poster re De Gea, don't go near United defensively.

6 mill for a GK is far too much in eyes I don't care how good he is. Some of that could easily be spent in the areas you're worried about. Vlaar is a good shout in defence at 4.6, 14 pts from 2 games so far. Hadn't even realised Fletcher was still at Sunderland. Personally take the leftover from a new goalkeeper and get a stronger attacker (that said he is playing QPR next week who as you said seem to be very poor defensively). I'd leave that midfield alone, looks very strong.

Chelsea goalkeeper is the cheapest way to have their defensive player,
unless you want to risk having Luis or Azpilicueta.

Well, he could always use freed up funds from courtois and caulker to get Ivanovic or Terry. Personally, I'd never spend more than 5 on a goalkeeper, I'd much rather save the big money for outfield players

Exactly. Chelsea defence will be in a huge percentage of teams. It's dangerous not to be covering. Taking the calculated risk to go for Courtois rather than the lottery of their defenders is one of my preseason choices I'm very happy with. Look how many got burned with Luis.

I have Hutton at 0.5m cheaper than Vlaar and rising.

And I struggle to pay more than 6 for a defender. :) It's personal choice. Prefer my defs under 5 if possible to free up the cash for attack.

Especially this early in the season. Plus in my opinion both Terry and Ivan will miss a few PL games due to rotation. Barring injury Courtois will start every PL game.
