Two points. Hamas deliberately fire their rockets from built up urban areas including schools which the UN condemned Hamas for twice....
Israel issued warnings to civilians prior to the ground invasion yet Hamas issued orders for them to stay. Many ignored this order.

Now tell me, why would Hamas do two of the above.

This bollockss of Hamas using there civilians as human shields is absolute garbage. Ireland is 236 times the size of Gaza and has just over double the population. Gaza is one of the most over populated places on the planet.

So about that proof you claim to have?..what are you going to prove..will you demonstrate this proof by evidence or argument...either or will suffice?...

Gaza pop Density: 5,000 per sq km
Dublin pop density: 4,600 per sq km.

And dublin is far from dense.

So instead of looking to get away from the "ridiculousness" of the argument you add to it and now think you're the better one? Okay..

So there was absolutely nowhere else to store rockets except in schools?

To try to counteract the deliberate thread derailing. Below are some links that people might find useful, as I know the majority of Irish people feel the need to do something.

The first links to a petition to expel the Israeli ambassador to Ireland

    Petition Link

The second links to website detailing the boycott of Israeli goods
Individual consumers can show their opposition to Israel’s Apartheid policies against the Palestinian people and violations of international law by participating in a consumer boycott of Israeli goods and services. A boycott can also put pressure on companies whose exports are linked to some of the most evident aspects of the Israeli occupation and apartheid.
The Israeli barcode starts with the numbers 729. However, it doesn’t necessarily appear on all Israeli products so be sure to always check the label for country of origin.

    Boycott Link

The third link highlights upcoming events around the country.

The Netherlands has a population of +16 million living on landmass roughly the same size as Leinster. Ireland is very underpopulated for a modern country and therefore a pointless comparison.

No doubt that if boards.ie and After Hours was around during the holocaust, we'd have a few defending what the Nazi's did. Unbelievable that some people are actually defending Israel in this thread.

This article was mentioned before and when pointed out that there was no proof of evidence other than that one article which doesn't even contain photos of any weapons found the thread was derailed into a farcical story about Hamas not allowing people to photograph them... which has nothing to do with finding a weapons stash!

It's a UN agency ffs. I think we can accept that there were some rockets found in a number of schools.

All I'm saying is that since this has started, there's been no solid evidence to show weapons found. The Israelis just say they've found some and then blow up the building and don't care who's inside.

So kill all the children then and make every Israeli and their followers happy?
Is that what you want? Is it fair game to bomb the school with all the children in it because someone left weapons there?

    You need to cop on.

    No it's not.

Hamas ARE using schools as military outposts, that's clear, Israel attempts to remove this threat but must, at the same time, warn civilians of the danger by leaflets and warning strikes.

I'd prefer if zero schools were ever hit, ever. But if Hamas persist in hiding in them, then I'd prefer that Israel warn civilians of strikes. It's a disaster and a tragedy either way, but at least the Israeli's make some attempt to save civilian lives, Hamas simply don't care.

No you wouldnt, Ye lads dont want peace.

The whole thing suits an agenda, greedy for land and a very small minority making billions off the war machine. Peace does not suit that agenda.

Meanwhile the 'normal' people on both sides are left to pick up the pieces.

The school in question was closed for the summer,so said Channel 4 the other day.Its totally unacceptable to be hitting school's where people are sheltering.

Well that's ok then... a few small missiles and some junk mail before they kill everyone. Very good...

    Utter codswallop

    https://firstlook.org/theintercept/2014/07/29/terrorism-israelgaza-context/
when Palestinians overwhelmingly kill soldiers (95% of the Israeli death toll) who are part of an army that is blockading, occupying, invading, and indiscriminately bombing them and killing their children by the hundreds, that is “terrorism”; when Israelis use massive, brutal force against a trapped civilian population, overwhelmingly killing innocent men, women and children (at least 75% of the Palestinian death toll), with clear intentions to kill civilians (see point 3), that is noble “self-defense.”

I just read a few pages of this and was thinking exactly the same thing, for anyone that thinks there is any justification to what Israel are doing id recommend giving it a watch.

Hamas do care. They care that enough civilians, telegenic and photogenic women and children are in the firing line. There's two wars going on right now. In one Israel are using ordnance in an attempt to suppress or destroy Hamas and in the other, Hamas are using Palestinians lives to turn world opinion against Israel. I'm no Israeli apologist or supporter and I find Israel's expansion policy abhorrent but at least I'm not blinkered as to what's going on in Gaza right now.

War is disgusting no matter where it takes place and civilians usually bear the brunt of it.

    Operation Protective Edge

    f*cking hell...
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned this week the war could be prolonged as the Israel Defence Forces carry out their declared objective of destroying the rocket-launching infrastructure of Hamas, as well as a sophisticated system of tunnels the militant group has built to infiltrate Israeli territory.

That's it then, they're going to flatten the whole of Gaza!

Yeah, my thirst for land in a country I've never been to and the profits of my arms manufacturing plants are to the forefront of my mind when I criticise Hamas.
