Lots of presumptions by Clare Daly.

The 8th amendments gives a human right.

What does she not want a referendum to abolish the 8th ammendment? Because she knows it would be abolished.

Btw another very biased panel. One prolife versus 2 prochoice not including the presenter.

It takes away the rights of women.

Because it provides a human right.

No one who sees the right to life of the mother and unborn would want a referendum to remove a human right.

Stories like this will continue to emerge and there is people that want no change. It's just so Irish, it's beyond belief.

I'd wager that's representative of the general view. But as long as we keep being presented with half baked tweakings to the constitution instead of being asked to vote f outright on whether or not we want access to abortion services here, the minority view will hold. And tragic cases like this will happen again.

Caroline unable to conceal her hatred of Kitty.

Clare Daly lies...prochoice always argue rape is a reason for an abortion.
Never any regard for people who are alive and have to listen to how they should have been aborted due to their father.

Funny how these SPUC people had no interest in babies who were born, and put into Mother and Baby homes, Magdalen Laundries, or for the 'lucky' ones, exported to America like sides of beef.
Why no organisation called Society for the Protection of the Born Child?

...kitty is a supporter of abortion. Her journalism is very biased.

The alternative is forcing a woman that has become pregnant due to rape seeing out the pregnancy until full term.

I believe that to be barbaric.

    The state has that role.

For some victims of rape left pregnant as a result it IS a reason for abortion.

It would be for me. Happily I'm free to travel, unlike this poor woman.

Can someone ask what Caroline would have done!?? No presenter has asked the pro-lifers this question.

It then ends with two victims of rape.

The pro-lifers all for "evidence based" stuff - they don't seem to apply that to their religious beliefs - the Virgin birth for example.

    @Robertkk

Do you believe that a woman should endure the psychological trauma inflicted by carrying a child conceived as a result of rape? Can you answer that question directly? How would you counsel a woman in this horrific situation? I'm really interested to know what you would advise her to do.

I'm not being sarcastic here, I'm genuinely curious how you would handle this.

I don't see abortion as a mental health treatment.
If removing the problem was the solution to suicidal ideation we would have suicidal people due to debts having their debts paid off for them.
People who are suicidal due to bullying have the bully incarcerated and do on.
Instead they are given mental health care treatments so they can deal with the existing problem, maybe medication along with psychiatric care.

Now can you actually abnwer the question i put to you?

    I didn't mention suicide once!

What would you say to and what would you do for a woman who was traumatised by rape, and pregnant as a result? How would you comfort her?

@Robertkk - you sound like you've swallowed some pro-life pamphlets and are regurgitating them word for word. That dead-eyed harridan on the show tonight said pretty much exactly the same thing.

And you both seem perfectly fine with inflicting torment and further cruelty on women who have been the victims of rape.

Because the catholic church never gave a crap about those children either and was happy enough to turn a blind eye to the rape and abuse of children for decades and the Spuc-ers get all their indoctrination from the CC.
