Tough for single parents when your kids are adults and have moved out. It's almost like you don't fit the criteria.

WTF, did Joe just ask the guy did he have children despite the guy mentioning them several times ?!

Joe's attention not on the call, as he was too busy rummaging through the clamps drawer, thinking wistfully of happier times, when he had sick and dying callers on line, not financial moaners.

    I've caught up, I hope.

The last caller could just pay an extra monthly payment (if he can afford it) and then pay weekly and he'll always be ahead - I wouldn't be ringing Joe only owing €2k. I'd be down the Credit Union and get it sorted - one less thing to worry about

I was very young when he was out. I more remember him from when Paul King used to host MTV's Greatest Hits (or was it videos) on MTV when they used to play music. In fairness, Adam Ant's vids were pretty cool for the time.

That Blackposh Clinic ad cracks me up - "If you have a medical emergency, its nice to know we're here during office hours."

"2 poles to hold up 1 pole…so to speak".

    That is an actual quote.

And if you put your car/van off the road for six months, go for a test and then discover your new cert is backdated for months it wasn't even working - you'll sing a different tune then. I can assure you.

I actually have a car that's off the road, I pay €55 to have it NCT'd every January just in case I need it. Doesn't move all year apart from that apart from the odd spin around a field to keep it greased up.

He's saving them for Monday the 7th January when everyone's most depressed , he gets maximum gratification then.

Will she be writing a book about her time in prison?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,028 ✭✭✭✭ButtersSuki

She was on lunchtime on newstalk earlier. The researchers have moved the dial too obviously.

Crazy what this one was jailed for.

Absolute interfering nanny state mingling in people's affairs.

Would socialising and interacting with other children not make up part of a child's education?

What's she complaining about? She got a free trip to Dubalin…..she could do some shopping in BT and get lunch in L'Ecrivain and be home for 6.

She was imprisoned for not paying a fine......it doesn't matter what the fine was for!

She should be assessed. Can you imagine if they let any parent home school - there are some right numpties around, they can barely speak and dress properly. I wouldn't let them train a dog - all children should be educated to a particular standard and the government need to ensure that.

    Good for you.
Now - suppose your car broke something major and you simply couldn't be 4rsed or couldn't get the part for a few months and the NCT date passed by.

Are you seriously telling me you'd be happy to be back-charged for months you couldn't have used it?

I must admit I was in my late teens when Adam was doing the rounds, I remember my parents at the time (God be good to them) couldn't grasp where all this noise which we were listening too could be called music !
