Never understand the Breitling hate . Good quality watches without any brand bulshit . That’s a €4k watch all day , €2k is dream world price and if it’s €2k I’ll buy it straight away .

Dunno if there is any Breitling hate here? I love them myself, great value for money. But they are a very hard sell, particularly here in Ireland in a private sale. Sold a Chronomat Evolution last year. They were all in the €3400-€5000 range on Chrono24 and I struggled and eventually sold for under €2k

Anadigi are not popular / desirable though, I would never buy one myself. Not even if it was dirt cheap

yeah you have to buy them right .Last one I bought I paid I think €2300 for it ,serious value much better than Tudors of similar price points .

But of course you have to have the strap with Breitling written on it , just to add a bit of class .

I had that Superocean heritage 46mm too, mine was cream / white dial. One of the best wearing watches I ever had. Swapped it for a Planet Ocean 45.5mm, which I think was a good deal 😁

mines 42mm , really does wear well. You’ve got to be in the mood for that strap though as it’s a bit jewellery ish for me but it is very comfy.Much nicer than the omega mesh strap which has a huge clasp that digs into your wrist.

I dont think its a civil thing to do to post just to bash someone's watch.

Let them ask what they want for it. The interest or lack of interest will let the seller know if its priced too high or too low.

Lads! All the Breitling talk has me trying to buy back my old Supoerocean II 🤣

On the topic of the thread, a B50 ana-digi is the watch that 20yo me would have loved, almost as much as I would an emergency!

Large, impractical and too expensive but surely???

    The rule of cool applies!

Let watches of Espionage remind everyone of just how cool Breitling watches are.

The forum would be a quiet place so, is it not for discussion? Guaranteed saccharine positivity is a bit disingenuous and echo chambery no??? I like Breitling personally. Navitimer is cool, superocean cool and I have a soft sport for the endurance pro because I am a tart. As for no brand bullshit….I think the entire aviation thing is right up there with Omegas moon obsession or tags motorsport sthick. But thats grand too, everyone has their USP.

However the OP here put up a 7 or 8k, 46mm quartz Breitling that he wants out of. We dont need to pretend he is in the honeymoon period and needs soothing confirmation of his purchase decision, he seems well able to withstand critique and give back as good as he gets with humorous sarcasm. As a watch I am sure its good albeit that would not be to everyones taste. However for resale purposes its a shocker and to say otherwise would be lies. I would think half retail if he is lucky in Ireland. As Cyrus says spread the net wider on chrono24 or try watchfinder for a trade in. Sometimes the strategy of a watchfinder trade in for something easier to sell allows you to release the funds more easily.

Unkle on here would be the best to give a sales strategy on a watch like that, he can shift almost anything albeit sometimes it takes a while.

The B50 is not for me, but a Schneider era Chronomat is a lovely thing, but just like others, I had a fully serviced one that had a light restoration back to original spec, and I struggled to break even.

They can be had for very cheap, relatively speaking, but they are not an investment. The Aerospace line in particular.

Breitling are an amazing watch when bought at the right price, buy them used fingers crossed you can get out of them without losing too much, my personal favourite was the emergency

always have a tiny bit of sellers remorse for selling my emergency. But sold to a friend so I get to see it regularly.. was the better proportioned 42mm version

As with a lot of brands buy pre owned at the right price and your all good

Exactly like you said. I have only ever sold one watch to Watchfinder (a Panerai) and it was painful and slow, until the moment I showed interest in buying another watch from them (and spending several grand on top of my trade in to buy another Panerai). Then the deal was quickly done that same day and the process was smooth and the agreed cost to change was very acceptable to me (they suddenly allowed quite a bit of room to negotiate)

All other watches I sell locally here in Ireland, privately. But you have to price them low (and accept even lower offers) to do that (except for Rolex), I find for the likes of Breitling a lot lower than the cheapest one you can find worldwide on Chrono24

I think I would try both these tactics on the above Breitling Cockpit. If you are patient and have the funds to upgrade, try Watchfinder first

Wouldn't hurt to offer them to the likes of Sheeran's or Dawson's too. Who knows what they offer, but it would be an easy way to get cash

Cheapest Cockpit B50 full set is €2800 on Chrono24. I would put it up for sale for €2995 on adverts and accept the first €2k offer or close to it

Remember that even C24 are heavily negotiable. Had a few watches sold there recently, spread out through the year and noticing I am getting more and more down offers, have one up (well priced - cheapest on site even comparing to HK now that I think of it) right now and still getting 20-30% down offers on it - which am refusing for now but doesn't look promising and it's an extremely desirable watch.

I don't think I've exaggerated when I said 20% of RRP. I can't see anyone paying even 2000 euros for it. Whoever does will soon realize they will not earn money with it but just pay 2000 euros for something to wear for a while - my view is such purchases (as in: not loving the item but the price of it) should be avoided. Quartz and anything over 1k is just ludicrous especially when this "aesthetically challenged".

the watch forum used to be a pleasant place where people compliment others watches but lately it’s just cut throat for no reason.
personally if I see a watch that I don’t particularly fancy or think it’s over priced I move on and say nothing

    The internet isn’t for everyone

Yeah but at the same time you have to recognize some of these models are a money grab from the brand, heck almost all of them. Some criticism doesn't hurt into pointing out the watch is with a very limited audience / not really valuable.

If you come to a cars forum and ask about Peugeot ad blue models you are not going to be told well that is a lovely car, it isn't.

This Breitling is a perfect example of something being bought just because it's "expensive"

There is that Tissot T-Touch for ~1k or second hand for ~500 euros which is literally 10x better/usable - and this watch is about that usability - nothing else to it.

As with everything in life the old adage applies “opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one”

As someone else said if I see a watch I don't particulary like I dont comment. I just dont hit the like / thanks button. If I like a posted watch pic i'll hit the thanks button or maybe even add a complimentary comment. I see some watches and I think jesus I dont see the attraction at all … but each to their own etc. Wouldn't it be a boring world if we all liked the same stuff!

I certainly wouldn't be as rude / ignorant as to take a shot at someones watch choice or start taking shots at the brand. Honestly its the mindset of a child tbh. Definitely a reflection of a persons character imo.

Yeah sure have an opinion but have some tact too.

we’re all big boys here , if anyone is getting offended because someone doesn’t like the watch that they like it may be time to stay off line for a while .As some one previously said about opinions we’ve all got them and at least it gives us a point for discussion

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 6,475 ✭✭✭CalamariFritti

Thats a bit passive agressive… for no reason…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,783 ✭✭✭✭OmegaGene

ah you can have a discussion without saying that watch is pony and you’d be lucky to get €2k for it 🤷

    The internet isn’t for everyone

to quote the post above, “opinions are like”………..oh never mind

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 2,919 ✭✭✭scwazrh

Only some posters said that .I said €2k is dream world price so both sides of the opinion spectrum were given.I like that watch but the proof of prices is in the sale and we all know that. You'd want to be a bit soft to get offended by a stranger on the internet saying your watch is overpriced.
TBF there is an awful amount of **** watches on this forum getting likes , maybe a bit of reality is needed.

jaysus lads.. it’s just hobby, we all like and hate stuff. Nothing is personal

We all try to help as much as we can and sometimes the advice is not welcome or appreciated.

    Just let it go..

( PS.. I hate Rolex ( except the Explorer II white dial))

    State of it.

Would you not get a proper watch? … like an Invicta or something …

    Not jealous at all.
