That boom of thunder earlier startled everyone of us in the exam hall in Croker. Shame it was just the one clap. Here's hoping for more in Dublin.

Thunder in the distance in Castlebar, although it is still lovely and sunny out.

Lightning and thunder overhead Ballinrobe. Power dropping out. Just had a torrential hail/downpour also.

Hearing Rumbles of thunder outside Ballina most if the afternoon. Sun is shining, but can see black sky approaching.

What a storm has just gone by. I was about to post and then a flash of lightning. Lost power for a while. Still rumbling and lightning. It's lasted about 15 minutes. Biblical rain now.
Location in South Leitrim near Ballinamore. Storm heading westwards.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,034 ✭✭✭redsteveireland

Finally, a direct hit. Torrential rain and hail. Thunder rolling away,no good vantage point to see strikes.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,958 ✭✭✭OldRio

    Vantage points ?

I'm behind the sofa cowering with the dogs. That was scary.

Now that was a decent storm. Fork lightning, hail, flash flooding. Had to go out and pick up a friend who's car had broken down, he asked me did I mind? I ran out the door!
