I can say I didn't think they were a good idea but there were also other people who said it would work both in and out of government. To say they were INTENTIONALLY RECKLESS is a very different thing.

The public wanted, asked and put pressure on the banks to lend more money.

I am not aware of any apprentice being given €200k+ mortgages.

Prove the job for the boys claim. I know how the procurement procedures work and I don't know anyway around it. It is all completely audited so you can go look up why anybody got a the work. I was even offered a job working as a consultant on the job with some of the bidders. It was anybody's guess who would get the contract.

You're not aware of people being given insane mortages?
The public wanted, asked and put pressure on the banks to lend more money.

The public put "pressure" on the banks to lend more. Are you serious?

How about the people who decided the lending policy of the banks? You can't tell me that loans of >200 grand to an apprentice were not reckless? How about the reckless bank guarantee? How about the reckless Irish water "JObs for the boys" fiasco?

The current government promised a deal on our legacy bank debt though as of yet nothing which just isnt good enough so far they have failed on a major promise that they made. The EU is dragging its feet. Enda needs to stop being a pussy and start playing hardball its the only way to get what we want being nice and good little Europeans gets you no where. We have options to force their hand now and possibly in the future its way past the time to use them. There are ways to ease the burden on our people now and in the future if our diplomats are prepared to fight our corner properly grow some balls and start playing hardball. We need to make this deal happen by whatever means possible and the way to do it is to take them on properly and force them to agree to it. The banks have been guaranteed we cant change that now we can however force the issue of retroactive debt relief and we should I dont understand why we havent. We have options if Enda et all have the bottle to use them question is do they.

Yes very serious. If you didn't know this you weren't paying attention. There was a mini industry of people faking pay slips to say they worked for a company for a few year in order to get mortgages. Parents went guarantor on mortgages, some taking mortgages out on their own home in order to give money to their children. This was while people were insisting the bank gave more multiples of their salaries for their mortgages. It wasn't like the banks turned around and just started giving large and larger multiples in mortgages. The public were shouting for it and also lying on applications.

Wow amazing ignorance. Firstly I never claimed it was proof of anything. Secondly when tenders go in a profile of the people working on the projects are submitted. At least two bidders wanted to use my profile on their application.
The people that made the claims that it is "jobs for the boys" have provided no evidence of this. It is just a wild accusation and they ran away when asked to prove the claim.

    More benches required urgently.
We didn't think there'd be that many of them.
