i'm begging everyone not to get their hopes up about tonight.

i'm going to be away from the TV from 8-10pm, and when I check to score, I fully expect a comfortable 3-0 victory for City.

i will say this though, a draw may well end me.

    Caulker?

    um, no.

unless it was as a squad player and at < £4m.

I wouldnt go near Micah Richards to be honest. Ball watcher and often gets caught out of position. Not to mention injury prone.

Think we need to go pillaging down the south coast for the likes of Clyne, Lovren and Lallana.

I'm expecting City by at least 3 if I'm honest.

Villa win and I'll donate 50 quid to charity.

keep your eye on the Benzema contract situation at Madrid.

If that stalls then it could be a long transfer window with regards to Suarez staying or going.

Rakitic is the must buy for me, if you want to add quality to the midfield and who is a gettable player its him.
In top 5 players in La Liga this season imo.

Sakho???? Sweet divine but he's rubbish altogether

He's really not. You find me more than a single goal that he's been responsible, unlike all of his defensive counterparts. He is unorthadox, but his pass completion and successful tackles are the best of all our defenders over the season. He's tough (unlike Agger) and quick (unlike Skrtel), and for his first season, he's done well and will only improve.

i'd be going so far as to say we'd be being utterly irresponsible if we weren't in for Rakitic in the summer.

jury is still out for me tbh.
but I wont ever write anyone off in their first season espeically when it involved a spell being injured.

but Carragher pointed out some really concerning aspects to his game on Monday.

I'd agree with most of that, but Skrtel is quite fast. Its one of his better qualities, really.

Haven't stomached watching the analysis yet, but out of interest, did he point it these aspects over a collection of games, or just the Palace one?

Also, if it was issues like defending too deep, something that Neville picked up on a few weeks back when Liverpool went under the cosh against City, was it just those pressure moments in the game, or is it something that happens throughout, regardless?

My take, Sakho only turned 24 in February and has bags of potential. His biggest traits you can't teach, and his biggest flaws can be cut out. To rob a Draft phrase, considering the week that's in it, he's got 'tremendous upside'.

Its not just Monday night either. Recall his lunge on Dzecko that should have been a pen, seen him against Norwich when the mighty Gary Hooper had him on the ass of his pants.

17M was his fee. And people complain of the fee spent on Allen/Henderson etc.

Carragher made some good points the other night about Skrtel and Sakho not pushing out when they should. Sitting way too deep at times v Palace. Would have prevented 1 goal for sure. Communication?

Skrtel will always be suspect for me tbh. Sahko is a good defender imo. Not entirely comfortable on the deck though.

Carra was dead right in his comments but that's a coaching\confidence issue imo.

It's also a failing on Mingolet. He should be roaring at them to get out of the 6 penalty area.

    this.

I did not know that Neville had highlighted it already in a previous game:(

Maybe its just because of no real leader at the back that the discipline of 'getting out' is not really enforced, but Sakho was still sitting on the 6yd box when the ball was at the half way line being passed about.

It meant when pumped in a CB would have to step out of the deep position leaving space in behind - exactly what happened for Palaces third.

Look it could be that we have not got a real partnership going at CB, but also concerning that a seasoned pro is not pushing out when the ball is well clear, and obviously going to be coming straight back in.

Not many complaining about Hendersons fee now.

Just shows how a player can come on when used correctly and has the confidence of the manager.

Centre backs and the goal keeper have to considered a unit.

Right now the unit consists of a fella who is not that communicative, a Frenchman who is learning English and an English speaking Slovak who is himself not a shouter. Its not hard to see where the problem is.

That's something that can be coached and improved upon, of me. Things such as, a lack of pace, poor presence, injury prone, are all stuff that can't, and unfortunately, they're all traits you could associate with Agger.

Time is on Sakho's side. Its not on Agger's.

This, all this with some cherry's and icing and stuff.

Theres no one at the back screaming for people to get their arse in gear.

Agree with this, a priority for the summer has to be a central defensive player with leadership qualities, we're missing a Carra / Terry player.

I just think they need intensive coaching as a trio, Sakhos English will improve after all

This is still the only concern for me about the club currently. Our transfers have been pretty poor overall, we've got to improve there this summer with more money and CL football available.
The signings have been papered over somewhat by the improvement in existing squad players / somewhat recent signings.

I think the development of Allen & Henderson, Flanagan & Sterling have taken away from the anonymity of Aspas, Alberto and the players on loan.

Personally I think Ilori, Suso, Wisdom & Borini coming back will improve squad depth no end. I also think Alberto can improve dramatically with a loan spell. Aspas I don't see turning it around.

If we add quality to our starting 11 then I think we have a very strong, competitive squad, capable of challenging across multiple competitions next year. With all that said - it depends on what we add to the starting 11 this summer & next January. If we can bring in two or three players the sharpen our first team, then the squad should look after itself, given the investment over the past two years.

Would prefer to take our chances on Wisdom developing further than splooge 4 mill on a player tbh

Rodgers can sign Peter the Panda if he likes, as long as he delivers results similar to this season.

Some signings didn't work out. That happens at every club.
