Yep Terry on for 3 bonus points.
Instead of -2. That 11 point swing likely to cost me about €100. (And possibly Norwich their place in the premier league and about 30 million but tbh I couldn't give a flying f**k about their injutice if it had been any other player than terry)

I have absolutely no sympathy for Azpi owners. You got the benefit last week while Cahill came on late for one point. Swings and roundabouts

Terry owners have got a very bit of luck this season, I don't think anyone can argue against that.

At least today's was from a ref cock up which happen quite often unlike the goal awarded v everton which was shockingly poor from fpl and their refusal to alter it.

Today's was annoying when it goes against you but they happen quite a bit.
Ivanovic owners also got lucky he wasn't sent off and hazard owners were unlucky he didn't get a penalty.

Oh absolutely. I won't comment too much on the l word here because I've seen essay type replies for both sides of it but in short luck def comes into it and anyone who says it doesn't is kidding themselves. A good player will limit the amount of luck required and will get by when luck goes against them but it does play a part.

Luck plays a huge part in every game, though some people will never see that, for example in today's match - clear Penalty for Nowrich, booking (yellow/red) for terry and probably goal for Norwich. the game will probably end up with clean sheet and Terry will get bonus points. So now the person with azpilicueta will get extra screwed over.

Anyone that had Gerrard when Liverpool where getting penalty for fun for a few weeks was luck.

up to 3 GW ago I was neck and neck with a Rival, within one game he went 50 points ahead (1 game not GW) - that is pure luck.

Also Captain choice can have a big influence on your week. When Suarez was flying everyone just gave it to him. But since then it's nearly impossible to pick so if you get lucky you go get 20+ points more then someone else.

If you have the time to spend hours at the game then maybe you can reduce the luck, for example those who bought Rooney early in the week got done, those who had Aguero got done, Ramsey out, Yaya/Silva seem to be nearly out for the season every time their injured but come back, Mata doesn't start/finish games all of a sudden.

But you could break down every single game this season and put different decisions down to good luck/bad luck. I don't see the point. As I said, I set up my team as best I can for 11.30 every Saturday morning and then roll with it.

If luck plays such a large part, why bother with this forum and planning future transfers, having a strategy etc.? It plays a small part I think but not a "huge" part.

Re Terry today, I haven't seen the incident but English internationals have been getting away with murder in PL games for years. Right back to Shearer throwing his elbows around in the early days of the PL. It takes a brave referee to send one off. Things like that have to be taken into account. Rooney should have been off against Cardiff earlier in the season but again I wasn't surprised when he wasn't.

As for Liverpool's penalties, they were scoring more goals from set pieces, not just penalties, than any other team. How can it be classed as "luck" then if someone brings in the person taking the majority if those set pieces? The stats were there to back the move up.

I don't know the ins and outs of your opponent gaining 50 points in a GW but he may well have been planning ahead. A few years back I stacked up on 3 Arsenal ahead of them playing Derby and made massive gains. I had plans to bring in Rooney for the Norwich game for weeks. Your opponent may have had similar plans the week he gained on you.

I generally find that going with a cheaper option like Azpi bites people in the arse eventually.

That's why I stuck with Terry..... Until Mourinho trolled us by saying he was gone for the rest of the season.

The managers really have been talking some bull in regard to injuries the last few weeks.

norwich have had 4 clean sheets since Feb 1. Chelsea, city and spurs are 3 of those . As much as mickey T was a hero last yr norwich defs have been very frustrating to own this year.

As regards Terry's luck he's certainly benefitted from a couple of decisions, one was inexplicable and made us diehards look like eejits for taking this game seriously in the first place. However he's also been quite unlucky not to score more premier league goals this year, he's scored 3 goals this year in over 3000 minutes, last season he had 4 in 950 minutes.

Meanwhile on the must read Manchester Evening News.....

    Aguero - no new update

Rooney - no new update except Giggs comments from earlier which I regard as lukewarm at best:

'Giggs believes Rooney could be back for the upcoming clashes with Hull and Southampton.

“I hope he will play again this season, we will keep monitoring him and see how he is for Tuesday," he said.

    "Hopefully he will be back.”.....'

We can only sit and wait until after Wed evening. It's in the lap of the FF gods for now.

"I hope he will play again this season" doesn't sound very promising.

Disappointing would be an understatement. No Ramsey today means I'm still on 32, with Ericksen coming off the bench with two.

9 to play, if Rooney does not feature, hoping Ward does not either as he is next choice sub.

Although if we (liverpool) have a goal fest and City draw or lose I wont be too worried.

Doubts surrounding Aguero, Yaya, Nasri, Chester, Ramsey and Wickham. Balls.

    50 with Suarez left.

17 from Terry & Mert today knocks me up to 40. Have 8(?) left to play again but if Rooney doesn't play I have Barkley coming on with 9 points.

He's had issues for about 2-3 weeks, was substituted yesterday due to it.

Scores seem quite similar all round, I'd say not many people are happy to have taken large hits at the moment but it could all change.

36 (-4) with Suarez, Gerrard, Nasri, Chester(?) and Aguero(c) to play.

0s for Ramsey and Chester plus Demel 2nd sub with 7. Sums up my season.

Bang on 100k now. Thankfully it's finished next week. Really need a break.

How many hits did you take to get the 50?

West Brom and Sunderland both just need a draw to stay up. Would love it if it ended 0-0.

Well i got no points today so im going for a few pints.

Opponent is a point ahead of me overall. He has nobody left to play in the first round of games bar Puncheon subbing in for Ramsey. I have Lallana subbing in with 3.

I have Suarez tomorrow night though. I'm not expecting anything from him but really need something.

Rival will certainly outscore me with his DGW players. He had one more than me (AJ) and could now have three because Chester is gone and Rooney may not feature.

No Ramsey means that Colback sub's in with 3 already, a good sub to have come in hopefully.

If Rooney doesn't play during the week, Barkley comes in with 9 points, stay injured ffs :pac:

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test
