Come drive mine, Pickles. Mine doesn't even have a roof, you hear the clutch slap together on a hard shift and it pops when the cat gets too hot. That's raw. :p

Yeah... Think the Mazda may need a clutch.
    Stage 2 racing. :pac:

I'd say so! I'll need a go at some stage!

Does it have the extra switch for more extra?

Half of the lights don't work on it, so I'll know tomorrow, needs new tyres though before it leaves my yard

    Driving along yesterday evening....

Enh... I think it just got confused by a long right turn coming off the M50... and the whole TCS/ABS system decided to shut down and light up like an Xmas tree. I wasn't exactly going slow either...

Last week I bought a car, tonight i collected it, with the help of two fellow boardsies, and with many offers from various others, but I'd like to say thank you to sobanek and ybfocus, without them I wouldn't have even acquired the car in the first place, and to be honest it's people like them who go out of their way to help that makes this forum what it really is, people may bitch and troll, but there are genuine people on here and I cannot thank them enough, the two guys and everyone else who is genuine, so yeah pics will be in the picture thread in a minute :)

    Ah gee stop :o

    aww-shucks-88052547296.jpeg

Genuinely gorgeous car, always had a thing for them!! Clean too and started first tip even though it has been obviously sitting up for a while!

Well wear man and only happy to help, maybe our roadtrip can reunite the kingdom of forum 47 :)

Is there any way to filter all the modified cars, more specifically golfs out of done deal. :pac: So many of them have been altered!

There is a fair few modified ones not as bad as the amount of a4s modified but still a lot are you looking at mk5 1.6 petrol or 1.9 tdi ?

TP that Saab looks class the 900 was always my favourite Saab I don't know why I just always like them. Anyway best of luck with it and I'll be keeping an eye on the project thread.

The Gumball rally started in MIami a couple of days ago and last night most of the cars were air freighted over to Scotland for a "race" to London today. Tonight Regent Street has been turned into a car park. As I live on 2 minutes away, I'm gong to head out for a look see later (arriving at 6pm). Not all are supercars (and you can get jaded by those in London anyway) but the Batmobile is included as is a 6 wheel Brabus G-Wagen. Hope they all make it safely.

Just watched them go through Edinburgh, Batmobile broke down somewhere outside Glasgow but there are two 6 Wheel G-Wagens in it

Id go without ... looks better when you open the bonnet if you break down !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,830 ✭✭✭✭MuppetCheck

Leave it on, if you're into cleaning an engine bay it makes the job easy too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,598 ✭✭✭tossy

Engine covers and original air box for me.

get rid of the engine covers, they hide all the important parts and cars dont need em. You open the bonnet to look at the engine after all and not to see a load more plastic you need to remove.

Went to the car this morning to find some scrote has stolen my side indicator off the wing:mad:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,728 ✭✭✭✭CianRyan

Engine covers are retarded, the bonnet does that job fine on it's own.

ESP/ABS got confused and shut itself off assuming it was faulty.

I think. It happened coming off the M50 at Blanchardstown.

From what I read, the peculiar combination of lights I got can be caused by anything from a slight wheel misalignment, unevenly worn tyre, a sensor with poor signal, or one of the brakelights being loose, or some corroded connections. Something minor.

So long as it's not constant, it's not a problem. It's just that it switches on *everything* when it decides to shut off.

Such joke. very humour. much funny. wow.

In other news, insane weather out there. Lightning, thunder and a huge amount of rain. I need to replace the wipers ASAP as they are pretty much useless.

There is literally no better feeling than the clean sweep of new wipers!

You open the bonnet to look at the engine after all and not to see a load more plastic you need to remove.

Nobody really wants to look at modern engines though, as OSI has said, they're hideous looking things. That's probably why engine covers started being made in the first place.

It'd be different if all engines looked like SR20/1JZ/RB etc with decent rocker covers

Was in tk max today I don't like the shop I think everything is all over the place but found this microfibre mitt for 4 quid. I'm trying to make a decent effort at the detailing have to start somewhere. No doubt someone will tell me this is the complete wrong thing to use :pac: I'm in abit over my head with the whole detailing thing. Where would I buy microfibre cloths reasonably online. Should I use them for applying autoglym super resin polish and egp or is there other cloths to use for applying them.

You'll be suprised how cheaply you'll get genuine vw wipers. For my golf anyway they were way cheaper in the main dealer than any motor factors or halfords they are the area type too.
