Rust proofing the engine bay, and a few bits need work around it and its too tight to get to with the engine in it, that's where most of the rust seems to be, so i might as well, learning curve and all that

Anyone know any way to see if an E39 is Pre-Wired for a MFSW, bar taking off the wheel itself? Failing that, the rough cost of getting a MFSW loom (~80 ish from BMW) installed?

    Did you get an e39?

Not yet but there's that 99 one in my Park dying for a bit of TLC as the owner can't afford to run and I reckon I can get for about 200/250. Even if I can't get insured until September/November I can work on it as a project as my brother has a lockup now so very handy for working on cars. All I really want on it is Cruise.

Yeah I guessed as much, he'll be getting a fair whack of business off me when I finally pick one up I'd say :p

Just back from a trip to the UK, and had the pleasure of being driven about in a brand new Volvo V40 hire car for the weekend. It had just over 100 miles on the clock when we got in. Was a dark blue with very light cream leather interior. Had almost every extra going, auto climate control, sat nav, radar cruise, lane drift avoidance, speed limit sign reading, heated seats the works. Damn comfy and was surprisingly nippy only being the D3 to. Would have seriously considered on for herselfs next car, bar one thing. It's fricking tiny inside. For a car that should be competing with a Focus and Golf, it was unacceptably cramped. Had the passenger seat all the way to the floor and as far back as I could go without squashing the person behind me, and was still hitting me head off the roof. And I'm not even 6 ft tall. Was a clamber to get in and out of the back as an adult as well.

I was in a 2009 s40 recently I know it's the older model but I couldn't believe how small they are inside boot was small enough. I was in the back and even with the front seat let forward a bit my knees were bet into the back of the front seat I had to properly bend my head town which I would have to do in some cars but this was extreme im only 6ft 2. Couldn't believe it as they never look that small on the outside.

I was in a mk7 golf my parents were looking at at the weekend and couldn't believe the space in them there a huge car inside for what they are. Front seat let back enough for the driver and I still had a good few inches between my knees and the seat and an inch between my head and the roof which u couldn't believe boots not too bad either.

Normally they're coil spring, but that's a Caldina Van, which must be a sort of donkey work car for construction workers

There's a Corolla van too, also leaf springs

Don't get too excited though, its a long way from Japan, and Ireland/Europe have to get their taxes

It does make for interesting viewing though.
