Yeah shocking price but against nothing.

Never too bothered about Punchestown anyway from a betting perspective.

Any particular reason? Not trying to 'get' at you or anything, just curious. It's an interesting viewpoint.

You're always trying to get at me so I'm wary of your angle ;-)

End of long hard season. Lot of horses may be running here on a whim or not necessarily planned. Ground probably fasterthan ideal for most. Poor quality graded races and competitive handicaps.

Faugheen drops to 2m on Tuesday. No idea if Vautour runs elsewhere or if that's it for the season

There was talks of one of the two of them staying over hurdles next year for the champion maybe they are sussing him out for it. Although of the two of them Vautour definitely looks the more natural hurdler.

Flying over tomorrow for this, cant wait for the experience. How much is a pint at the track at punch?

Some serious each way value in antepost markets. The likes of the champion Chase, novice hurdle and mares race all being 3 places, which is unlikely to be available on the day.

    faugheen 4/5 on tues
    looks bulletproof to me
wonder would any bookie enhance it to evens on the day?

id be happy to go with the fly at 6/4

wait or go in now the only dilemma?

will mullins run valseur and wicklow against faugheen?
If not we'd be looking at 1/2 shot or less

maybe someone here might know the answer to that

I can't imagine valseur lido will run..Wicklow brave maybe given he hasn't win a big one

You won't get much change out of about 5 or 6 euro, and they'll serve it in a plastic glass, and if you ask for stout, it'll be a pint of brown.

Punchestown should really cop themselves on. They could easily condense this into a three or four day meeting, at best. The first race on Tuesday is about the sh!ttiest race you'll see all season, and it's supposed to be kicking off our premier NH meeting. Could you imagine Cheltenham starting with such a rubbish race??

Does anyone think Sizing Europe could sneak a victory in the champion
    Chase tomorrow.
Punchestown has been the scene of some of his best performances.

Took 8/11 earlier with betv, were going 4/5 last nite as were 888 but
With 888 I'm seeing rule 4 applicable in brackets in the bet slip
They're a pathetic lot when it's comes to racing
That price Could look pretty big come post time

Faugheen over 2m and Vatour over 2m 4f. Bit puzzled at that decision.

    So strange that one^^^

Very tempted by the 3s about Balder Success in the novice chase on Thursday.
    I have been extremely impressed.

Bets placed after final decs would be subject to R4 with all bookmakers

Looked at the entries for Friday and doesn't look like there's much there that will trouble Vautour? Willl lac fontana take him on?

You do realise it's a hunter chase?

I do agree with a bit of that, but for me, that opens up the possibility of backing a few fairly well handicapped winners.

Oh yeah but they're all out for a stroke, watch the money.

Faugheen so far has been a terrible jumper of hurdles while having a jet plane engine. Can't see how he can be a two miler but I'm looking forward to seeing him again.

Vautour looked a natural CH contender at Cheltenham, very strange goings on reversing them in trip.

I'm well aware that it's a hunter chase. It's an appalling way to start what is supposed to be our premier national hunt racing festival.

    Agreed.

Any 5 day meeting is going to have crap races.
Cheltenham is the be all and end all and has crap races over its 4 days.

3 day meeting is the sweet spot if you want top quality all the way through.

Just look at Galway for complete & utter garbage racing. Worst standard of racing Ive ever seen.
