AUX cable yo! Tried Spotify once, it kept playing terrible mainstream pop music.

I've got an android phone so can use android auto. Tune-in radio to stream the better stations that are out of range in cork, spotify and google play music fully controlled from the head unit. Best set up I've come across.

Been tipping away doing a few bits to my 106 the last few weeks and delighted to say I still step out most days with a massive grin on my face (although usually late as I've got mad for taking odd back roads and routes to get places recently). She maybe only 1.1l and have no power steering but the handling is spot on and the revvy lump moves along at a nice pace. In terms of stuff I've done, I binned the original interior and put in a 106 GTi cloth interior which is miles better than the basic units and give great body holding. Add to that I've fitted a pair of 30mm lowering springs up front. Its a subtle enough job looks wise but it now doesn't look like a jeep, has a nice amount of agressive rake and its cut down on the body roll massivly so a win win all round (even if it was one heck of an akward job).

    The temporary Astra.

Funny story behind it; when we went to look at Astras (nearly 2 years ago now ) this was in the dealership beside the one we actually own now. looking at the two we were told "i can do a very good deal on the black one, but i can't move much on the white one" and it looks like the black one has been there ever since, there's only like 3k on it.

it's mad how basic it feels compared to the SRi, i'd say that's why it won't shift.

    no pleather
    no bucket seats
    no auto handbrake
    no armrest
    no front fogs
    no privacy glass
    no "carbon fiber" dash inserts
    no auto lights
    no auto wipers
    no auto rear view
    no trip computer
    no alarm
    no sill scuff plates
    no chrome or mudflaps outside
    17's...

like a third world country in there!

Opel were a great bunch of lads though, very painless compared to the warranty work we've needed on the 500, for example. got us in straight away, gave us a car and have been good at keeping in touch.

Have you noticed it's not a Toyota?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,903 ✭✭✭✭Toyotafanboi

unfortunately, yes. when life got a bit more real the other year, we needed a "good" car. GT86's were well out of budget :P twas that or a Scirocco, maybe a Veloster.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,925 ✭✭✭GvidoR

Scirocco would've been the clear choice. ;)

I think the lights are very good. Kinda frightened me the first time they pointed left. I thought they were fooked haha I used the auto dimming feature last night too and it's very handy but kinda hard to get used to and to trusting a machine!

If Fear Factory have taught me anything it's never trust the machine :pac:

    A folding shopping hook!? I think I want a 430 now :(

Class motor, 6 cylinders too, not many of those about. I'd say it's very fast when you need to pass something. Good luck with it.

Oh I have no doubt! might even attend to the windows during the week. They need a good clean as they fogged up pretty badly last night ;)

    Absolutely stunning MM.

That your first auto? I know you were totally against autos when looking for the 335.

How are them new slippers? :D

Is that an aftermarket unit or one that came with your car?

Looking to install a pioneer android auto unit on my car before Christmas

It's the same in my car I can fully control spotify from the steering wheel controls its great no wires all over Bluetooth. I never had spotify until I got the megane but it's very handy. On a rare long trip I might conect my iPod to the radio via aux in for a change more so than anything as there is no real need for it.

    Cheers man!

I was against an auto in the 335 because I read in numerous places that the manual suited that engine a lot better than the auto. The F30 only comes with the auto box. Manual isn't available anywhere and I think they've made the right decision.

IIRC the auto accelerates faster in the 335. Maybe that's the 4er I'm thinking of though.

Anyhow, you liking the autobox so far? I'm a firm believer that once you go auto you're very unlikely to go back, especially with modern autos.
