I was actually looking this one but couldn't find any reviews. I guess it's pretty much the same thing as the Das 6 pro reading the description of it. Nice one...thanks :)

I purchased 2 das6's from him before Christmas, One for me and one as a gift for my son.
I haven't used my one yet, but my son has and he finds it spot on.
Get some pads and polish and tape etc. from him as well

Guys.... I park iovernight on my front drive that has some conifer trees on one side. I notice that. My trims along the windows are showing a green mossy Colour. You know the foamy part on bottom on the window that catches the dirt as it comes down on opening

How can 8 remove this green stuff and bring back the black to the trim...

Diluted APC, spray it in there and let it soak, then use a detailing brush or a soft toothbrush to agitate it. Pressure rinse off, you may have to repeat depending how bad it is.

Not sure if this belongs here, so mods please delete if necessary.

Anyone ever refurbish a set of alloys before? Picked up a set of wheels dirt cheap with the intention of refurbing them over the coming weeks.

From what I can gather, an overview of the steps are - clean/degrease wheels - apply paint stripper - clean wheels again - sand down from heavy to light grit sandpaper - fill in scuffs with filler - sand down again until even and smooth - primer layers x 3 - paint x 3 and then finish with clear coat.

Does that seem correct? Going to start ordering what I need online.

    Cheers.

    Sounds about right,
Don't go too heavy grade on the sandpaper.

I find their website is terrible though. Where is the product listings? Brand menu etc?

It's a huge amount better than it used be.

On desktop the listings are there on the left. On mobile you have to press the orange box with the white arrow in it. Fairly simple.

Polished my car last weekend.birds have since shat over every single panel of it including down the sides of the doors and I can’t be bothered with washing it.
    Determined,acrobatic sh1te droppers.
My theory is,the shinier the car,the sh1ttier the birds.

I'm another that may have to go power washer shopping. My one (Lavor Best 28) stopped working over the weekend. I'm thinking it's electrical. I'm going to open it up soon and see what's what.

If I have to go shopping, I take it Kranzle & Nilfisk are the most reliable? The Lavor gave a bit of trouble with seals, O-rings, etc

God I love the magic pixies that magically fix things. I tried the power washer this morning, just one quick check before I open it to check. It's back working! Magic!

Although, what probably happened is that the thermal cut-off kicked in. The machine was going for about 3 hours almost non stop washing the yard.....

Megs endurance tyre gel still the best for a glossy wet look that lasts, lads?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,920 ✭✭✭✭MetzgerMeister

Either that or Meguiars Reflect tyre shine.

Cheers. Also just got some Turtlewax Hybrid Sealant and it's incredible for the money. I assume it's okay to use to seal alloys too after cleaning?

I was told last week that part of my order (a drill brush costing over €20) was due back in stock on the Friday at the latest. Emailed them this morning to ensure it was being shipped and haven't heard back.

You might as well forget about the online contact, that is just too easy to ignore. Ring this number 0877415411. And if you are pig headed like i am keep ringing till they answer . Its essential you annoy them as much as they have annoyed you by sending the wrong item and doing nothing to put things right.

Looks deep, needs re spray.... Probably looking around €250-€300

Where are you based? Asking a detailer to polish it would be the best idea. It might not get rid of it but will certainly make it less obvious.

Personally I think a respray for that mark is a mad idea. A touch of black marker or even touch up paint wouldn't cost an arm and a leg.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,295 ✭✭✭Stallingrad

Checkout Dr Colourchip for that, you will get much neater results than a touch up brush.

What car? On the very off chance it's the same colour paint as my old car, I can post you on my dr. colourchip kit (assuming it's not expired/dried up). Highly unlikely, but you never know.

First step would be to get it polished I guess, but it's likely deeper than polishing can fix. After that, weigh up a spray vs. dr. colourchip vs doing nothing.

Are the Parkside PHD150 pressure washers any good for personal use, lads? Planning on buying a Karcher K2 soon but my father has one of these Parkside units collecting dust in his shed. I think he got it from Lidl a while back.

Its a Jag XF estate (2013). Cant get out to Cork (which I assume would be the nearest polishing availability) at the moment due to the restrictions. I live in west Cork.

At least no one will see it then.

It's not going to get worse over time anyways, so there's no rush to get it fixed.

D & D Detailing are in Westlink Business Park, Old Mallow Road in Cork City. MX Valeting (JAMES VTI S here on boards) does mobile work and covers Cork.
