Consoles aren't even cheaper, if you play through lots of games then PC will be more economical in the long run. Mods let you get even more bang for your buck. Also PCs are useful for plenty of other stuff besides games.

Many of which people just use their phones or tablets for now. :p

Wait until you try it in 4K

You are on about PC's being more affordable & then on about 4K......bit of a contradiction.
I'd much rather play something that look basic like Pocket Jockey or BoxBoy and play well than a Crysis or Fallout 4 that look amazing.

It's such a close minded opinion.

In general I'd agree with what you're saying Pug but PCs can't cover all bases, it's foolish to think otherwise. I don't give a toss about Sony or MS but Ninty do handhelds, pushing boundaries and first party games better than anyone else, in my opinion it would be a travesty if they were to leave the console market. And a monopoly isn't a good thing for anyone, so MS and Sony must stay to balance out that end.

Also I really want Bloodborne 2.

Can't wait to play Bloodbourne and The Last of Us on my gaming PC...... oh right :(

Maybe i can cheer myself up by playing Rez in VR on my PC.... oh right :(

I built a gaming PC about 2 years ago and i still usually end up getting multi-plat stuff on PS4 and only using my PC for FF14 because MMOs are undoubtedly better on PC. I'm coming to realize that Steam is full of utter garbage so cheapness isn't really a factor when the exclusive games are bad.

Nearly everything is much more enjoyable on console.

I never understood why grown adults argue over which of their increasingly identical toys are better.

Why does anyone like anything over another thing?

This argument can be applied to everything.

"Why isn't everyone on the planet just an Arsenal fan? They are all just football teams anyway, what does it matter?"

Luckily the "Gaming Community" can come together on threads like this and agree on the important things.

Mod note: Please note the charter re: format wars silliness. Everything has been said 1,000 times before, and we don't need to go over it again :)

But console owners need to be put in their place! (please don't ban me)

It doesn't matter if you play on console or PC. What matters is whether you enjoy it. Anything else is pointless bickering and penis measuring. Nobody gives a toss, ultimately. Shut up. Stop moaning. And get back to your video game on whatever platform you prefer.

And as an opinion - Ocarina of Time is nowhere near as amazing as people make it out to be.

My setup can do proper pc gaming, but all I use it for is FM17 and will probably grab Civilisation in the future. Like yourself I get most games on ps4.

Get the f*ck out. That game was amazeballs.

I hope it's better on the 3DS, the controls are abysmal on the N64

I'm bewildered at the praise Witcher 3 gets and I can only assume it comes from people who don't play a whole lot of games because it is incredibly generic and has all been done before, in my opinion.
I know its called unpopular gaming opinions but that assumption there has to be one of the stupidest things posted in this thread so far...

It's stunning on the 3DS, and a good reason to own one.
They also took to upgrading the visuals and made some changes to the most frustrating dungeon resulting in one of the most essential games to own for anyone who subscribes to the hobby.
And, is relatively cheap to buy now too.

    As for unpopular opinions,
I didn't enjoy Another World at all, feeling more like a series of unannounced QT events and a glorified memory test. Flash back was outstanding but I really enjoyed Fade to Black, first on PC and later updated for the PS1.

I don't remember them being particularly troublesome but it's been quite some years.

God the hours I spent in that game exploring, trying to find all the cool and hidden things. The awe at how pretty it was at the time.

I agree with this and I don't agree with this. I think it's a great game because it was such a huge technological leap - emerging into Hyrule Field from the Kokiri Forest blew my tiny four year old mind. It's like FFVII and Super Mario 64, in that it showed people what consoles were truly capable of. Even now looking back the design of the game is incredible - the time travel mechanic showing the change in this bustling world was genius, the sound design makes the game, even the way the story is told via mechanics rather than cutscenes. OoT was also the precursor to the open worlds that dominate modern gaming.

But the actual mechanics - the escort missions, the archery, the sword play, the Water Temple, the tunics, that stupid Skulltula quest - none of that has aged well. A lot of it is remedied in the 3DS release, but not all of it.

It isn't the best Zelda to play (my personal favorite is Twilight Princess), but it is the most significant one. It helps, of course, that most modern gamers played it as a kid and love it due to the nostalgia factor - my earliest memory is of the Phantom Ganon battle :D

    .

I bought a 3DS this week to play Pokemon ....but when on the store I also seen Ocarina of Time...and seeing as I've never really played/completed a Zelda or Mario game (I didn't own a NES/SNES/N64/GC or Wii) I said I'd get it.
    Played 5 mins...looks absolutely lovely.
The 3d on it is great too.

Any other cheap recommendations of the 3DS please post em. Cheap ones.

    Zelda a link between worlds.

Its an homage to the best Zelda game, A Link to the Past.

And to this day is still better than any of the many "homages" to it that seem to crop up on a weekly basis almost. Can't improve on perfection. Watched my partner play though it a while back and the sheer joy she got from it was infectious :)

I'd say its in an elite club of games that have stood the test of time and could be released today and be enjoyed to the same degree as when they were originally released because of the lasting impact they had on many games that followed.

There's no elite club. Most good old games are still good.

I'm struggling to play The Witcher 3. I just can't get into it. Very slow build up and I'm finding myself getting bored very quickly. Haven't switched on in over a week. This is the second time I've tried and I did get further this time but can't see myself continuing for a while.

It's damn purdy but I wasn't much of a fan of it either. Might try and give it another go....

I didn't like it much myself, I'd give it until Velen at least, you stop being mobbed by wolves and have more stuff to do, like crafting armour, or playing Gwent.

Nothing wrong with not enjoying a highly rated game anyways, different strokes.

    Unless it's a console exclusive.

I enjoyed Witcher 3 at first but after a while the size was just... overwhelming. There was so much to do that it never felt like my actions made a difference to the world at large.

I had the same with Horizon.
Tried to get into it twice, couldn't. I'll try again soon.
I also couldn't get into Witcher 3, I have Witcher 3 for PC ..my screen is about 24" maybe, I wonder if it would be better served on my PS4 on the big TV.

Just traded Horizon for the 2nd time, overhyped bollox, possibly because I had just finished Yakuza 0 and that pisses all over Horizon. Roll on Yakuza Kiwami next week.
