    Love watching Ronnie break building.
McManus should be winning by more considering how badly ken has played. Such a shame really.

Can't believe how badly Ken is playing.

He was great in qualifying and in the second session against Bingham.

Outstanding game by gentleman Joe but just not enough against Ronnie.

Ronnies ability to go up in gears is something else.

    He'll be kicking himself.
He really left it behind him.

sheer class back to back centuries in those circumstances, gotta feel for poor Joe he looked shook there

Wouldn't it be great if Ken could make a comeback here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,513 ✭✭✭seanhynes

10-5 gives him a glimmer of hope. 11-4 he needs a comeback similar to 11 years ago v Hunter

Ken did it against Paul Hunter, he was 15-9 down in the 2003 semi final and won it 17-16, and he done a similar thing playing williams in the final, he was 11-4 behind and he got beaten 18-16, he was level with williams at least once i think.

so he's no stranger to:D comebacks

    147 on now for ken,surely he couldn't

Difference is Ken is nowhere near the player he was 11 years ago

Losing 10-5 going into this evenings session. But he managed to win the last two frames of that session. Hopefully he can get his head straight for tonight.

Will BBC show his match I wonder. I will be out so going to miss it :(

BBC coverage has been pretty poor have to say cut off this morning coming into a critical point in Ronnie's match, so switched over to Eurosport where Neal Foulds does a decent job commentating, although I can't listen to Joe Johnson, his commentary skills are pretty poor and when he's not talking it sounds like he is sitting on the microphone there is so much farty type noises! You can watch it on the red button but you kind of get used to watching it in HD!

    Thanks for the update...
Ah I'd say the bbc will cover it. Surely some highlights at least anyway.

  • Registered Users Posts: 78 ✭✭Choodefat

To be honest, I haven't seen much of the championship so far, so I don't know how good or bad the bbc coverage has been. Didn't know it's on Eurosport as well...

Been to Ken Doherty's club a few times, grand spot...especially with a bar next door hah.

I think I would have lost interest if Ronnie had been knocked out this morning! Its always a buzz seeing him play! I'd say Barry Hearne and the sponsors are delighted he's still in the tournament!

BBC coverage is awful this year. They just don't seem bothered. Only one game on the Red button and cut off the best match of the Championship with a few frames to go. They haven't bothered showing any evening sessions either. I hope Sky or BT take it off them next time the bidding for rights starts. Not getting the coverage it deserves at all.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,724 ✭✭✭SureYWouldntYa

And they wonder why interest is on the down.

They only show 3 matches live in full on the BBC channel, the semi's and final.

And for technophobic people like my father who's watching snooker 40 years, it's not good enough

Could almost swear people here were paying a licence fee.
