Pretty much the entire Argentina 1986 World cup team.

Sure you've got your Diego Armando Maradona but you've also got the Jose Luis Brown, Jorge Burruchaga, Daniel Passarella and Julio Olarticoechea. With an honorable mention to Nery Pompido in goal.

    Not a player but....

    Neville Neville

I always hear a certain David Bowie song in my head when I hear that name. :D

Bastian Schwiensteiger is my absolute favourite name. It sounds like a great insult.

During the 98 world cup when Baddiel and Skinner were on they had an item where they combined two players surnames to funny effect. Two I remember were Baghieri Arce and Hong Durie.

    Ukraine's Tymoschchuk.

To me and my fellow juvenile minded friends, this became 'Tim Was Shook' which concocted the image of a guy called Tim trying to play while absolutely wrecked with a hangover from the night before.

It was funny to us anyway.

Watching the Euros I was amused to see one of the Romanian players called Rat.

A Slovakian player named Kucka, pronounced cooker. I thought he went off the boil against Wales before hob-bling off!

Then England v Russia with Leonid Slutsky, named after a Polish prostitute.

Used to play for Holland and when the commentator said his name fast with the correct prounounciation it sounded like Stan Bollõcks...

    Stuart Dallas, not Hugh Dallas.

Hugh Dallas was a former Scottish ref back in the 90s that raised the ire of Celtic fans more than once.

Yeah, just realised the other day he's called Stuart (oops :o) Was getting him mixed up with the ref alright. (Still think it sounds like a C & W singer)
