Gilliam's cartoons were the only consistently great part of Monty Python.

No Louis Walsh this time showing us around the prize destination, I'm so dissappointed I'm going to rip my TV licence up in anger.

    He's ill with sunstroke :pac:

You reckon Ryan really spotted girl in hat or was that contrived?

    Nah ...
Screenwriter, film director, animator, actor and member of the Monty Python comedy troupe, Terry Gilliam, will join The Late Late Show line-up this week.
We have a few remaining seats for Gilliam fans so if you would like to join us live in studio this Friday please email latelateextra@rte.ie and tell us what's your favourite Terry Gilliam film and why. Please remember to include your name and contact number. #LateLateShow

The BBC were about to throw away the first two series of Monty Python until someone tipped off Terry Jones and he smuggled out the original films.

It's hard to believe how little regard they had for their own archive.

No surprise. Someone watched it and saw that it was rubbish

Can we have just one BBC Four documentary without Bono?

RTE weren't much better. The f*ckers wiped almost all of Bosco.

By their own admission, the first few series of Python was a bit hit-and-miss...that type of 'surreal' humour hadn't been seen on mainstream tv before.

The original series weren't repeated in full until quite recently. Instead, they had compilation episodes.

A rare case of comedians realising that not all their work is great.

Most of Monty Python is not very funny.

I've always been a fan. I think the Life of Brian is the best comedy film ever made. Sure, some of their stuff didn't work because they were always experimenting. When it did work it was brilliant.

The Python sketches were hit and miss but when they hit they were awesome!!

The Final rip-off collection on audio tape (proper old school!) is highly recommended.
Great memories of long car journeys as a kid in fits of laughter to it

He is the Enya of slice pans. She was not one for public appearances too.

Old school slot, potential for a bite or one going for a dump, either would make me happy.

I agree - I love the films, I should have said I meant the original series.

I suppose that's the nature of sketch shows, they will always be hit and miss.
