Yeah as someone else said, not an easy away win.

West Brom at home in 2014....
    1-0 Newcastle
    1-1 Everton
    1-1 Liverpool
    1-1 Chelsea

    United away in 2014...
    1-3 Chelsea
    1-2 Stoke
    0-0 Arsenal

    What do people think of;
    Sagna - Azpil
    Eriksen - Paulinho?

First one looks a good option. The second option looks good in theory but that transfer might be better off saved for a later week. As in so you have two free transfers for the following weeks. unless this is a 4 point hit that you are taking

    Have 2 FTs.
Might go for the defensive one so & bank the other FT to have two for the following week.

So is Benteke to Ade a simple no brainer or am I missing something. Not having Ade or Sturridge has been a costly mistake recently and can't keep on waiting for Benteke to deliver. Both have decent fixtures next two weeks, but Ade plays in gw29 where Benteke has a blank. Ade is a million cheaper.

Doing the same. Also helps that there isn't a really good transfer to do! Also better to hold in case of injury you don't want to figure out a plan to field a team during the blanks then have them get injured before you need them!

Doing my transfers this evening. Taking a four point hit to bring back Ade for Dzeko, and changing Sterling to Puncheon in the first of my changes in preparation for oncoming carnage.

who to get rid of giroud or dzeko ???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,511 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Was heavily considering doing the Ade in transfer tonight assuming the City players all make it through tonight unscathed, but it doesn't seem worth it even though he's due to be rested on Thursday night. An injury to another of my players (and it's usually only with the Friday team news that loads of these come out) would cause unnecessary stress with the weeks that are approaching, all for .1

I've done up my planned team for GW 29 and there's .1 left over at present so I can absorb that .1 and I don't see the other players that I plan to bring in over the coming weeks rising in price.

Dzeko. At least Giroud has a game next week as poor an option as he is for this game.

Was thinking that alright. At least I'd get two games out of Giroud. Will Wenger start him considering the controversy though? hmmmm.

do you need to make the sterling to puncheon one for the money to get Ade? If not I wouldnt make that move this week as sterling has a good fixture and Id be slightly concerned about puncheon losing his place before gw 29 with all the signings palace have made.

By now I'm sure he will.

Yeah, I'm actually .1 short for Ade--which is quite infuriating, and Puncheon seemed like a good shout. Well a CPL player seemed a good shout, and he's the obvious one. But now I'm reconsidering. :o

Why would you be concerned he'll lose his place? I see he got subbed off in the last game he played, but he seems to be pretty solid for minutes apart from that. And re: Sterling, I have no intention of actually starting him.

    In preparation for GWs 28/29

    Mata Out Wilshere IN
    Rodriguez OUT Adebayor IN

    4 point hit.

Wilshere has no game in GW 29, Mata does. Rodriguez also has a game in GW 29. You should probably reconsider those.

    Right,
I'm hoping the injury disaster that has been my season so far is now behind me and the that ship has steadied itself.

    FPL2104_zps23849fe2.png

So I threw this together in order to see if I can secure second. I'm not sure I'm going to catch first but I'll definitely give it a go.

GW29 and the subsequent gameweeks are going to make or further break my season but I think the mayhem surrounding this is where I'll have the upper hand. I'm happy to take point hits.

Players in red squares signify those missing GW29. Players coloured red signify players that have games in gw29 but may not play. The big red number is the number of players they can currently field in GW29.

    Two questions -
    1) Have I made any mistakes with the fields (I can see Bruce should be colored red).
    2) What transfer(s) should I make considering the fact I'd like to bring in a player that plays GW29, is on form, and has good fixtures till GW32-33.

Im thinking of puncheon myself but will wait till gw 29 to get him in. They signed ince and joe ledley on deadline day. Their last game ince played off the front man and ledley played left back. Ince could very easily play wide in puncheons position and ledley central midfield. Glenn murray who has been out injured all season and was one of their key players last season is now back fit and is an attacking player he could take ince's position as could cameron jerome. This could in turn see ince take puncheon's position.
Id still say its more than likely puncheon will start gw 29 but as I wouldnt be starting him till then I'd prefer to see how things develop up until then.
You must have some front 7 to bench sterling ahead of a home game with swansea.

Can u get ade in for bony. Id be inclined to keep sagna for the next two weeks sagna, baines, cahill is your best 3 at the back for those 2 gws. Sagna may then have a dgw in gw 31 week swansea at home and chelsea away. If subsequently its announced that the dgw isnt gw 31 Id transfer sagna out in gw 29 if not Id hold him till gw 31.

I see. I'll probably still buy him as there's no one else really standing out.

Re: Sterling. He's a little fecker for consistency. As it is, my front eight:
    Sterling, Mata, Lallana, Hazard, YaYa,
    Benteke, Suarez, Dzeko.

Dzeko HAS to go this week for Ade, so I can sort my team into some kind of shape for 29+. Lallana is the only one I'd conceivably bench for Sterling, but he's far more consistent than Sterling, hence Sterling being benched. Plus, I need another .1 to afford Ade. Sterling is the obvious target to ship out!

I see your sterling issue now ye he probably is the one to bench out of that 8. The damage is done with dzeko but he really should start this week and has better points potential than benteke this week which is what matters. Id save the -4 this week and do benteke to ade unless you plan on keeping benteke despite his gw 29 blank.

Newcastle are whipping boys right now. Plus Benteke plays this week and next, which frees up a transfer leading into 29, whereas Dzeko obviously doesn't play in 28.

You have 100+ points to make up. To be honest I would go into gamble mode. Hold on to Lallana and Hazard as I can see them continuing their scoring and you don't want to fall further behind. Boruc is a good differential over Mig, and cheaper. Baines will outscore Coleman and Everton have good fixtures and DGW's coming up. Baines is also a hidden captain choice that could do you well. Mata and Nolan are also worth holding on too. Ade is worth getting in, ignore the fact that the guy top of your league has him. Get in a Chelsea defender for Sagna after this week.

You're at 170k at the moment. If it was me I'd be aiming at top 50k or bust. 60 points can be easily made up over 13 weeks, but not if simply pick the top performing players. You're actually in a decent position with no City players. Get Ade in for Bony this week, then maybe look at bringing in Aguero for Suarez in a few weeks in preparation for the City DGW's. Time to take risks.

One question: is the second place worth anything? I mean would you prefer finishing second or go all out for first at the risk of finishing 5th or 6th or even worse?

If your second place is worth something I would play it "safe enough". You have 30 pts to make. Captain alone can make that up.
If you want to go for first then follow roryc's advice.

    As for your questions.
    1) No I don't think so.

    2) FFS "next 6 ticker" is your firend ;).

    337353next6ticker.jpg

So by the look of it, Man U, Norwich, Southampton and Stoke are the teams to consider.

Considering that and your criteria, this is a list of on form FF players. I striked through the ones I feel unworth it.
    Fonte
    Adam
    Van Persie
    Olsson
    Smalling
    S. Davis
    Crouch
    Evra
    Shaw
    Bassong
    Yoshida
    R. Martin
    J. Rodriguez
Alternatively, Adebayor is on form in a team which is playing much better now and which is going to push for a top 4 finish. But his fixtures are pretty tough for GW29-32. That being said I'd get him in for the option playing it "safe enough".

So from what I can see:
    • Consider Norwich defenders after GW27. They play the four S teams, not strong attackers
    • Dump Arsenal players after GW28 (especially if they get a result against Bayern tonight)
    • Consider West Ham defenders/Nolan after GW28
    • Consider Stoke defender/Charlie Adam after GW28
    • Bring in City players after GW29
    • Bring in Sunderland defender after GW29. Easy fixtures and DGW. Doubling up with Mannone not a bad shout
    • Bring in Everton players (if you don't already have them) after GW29. They could even have a DGW in GW31
