Chizzy wins the first match of the tournament 7-5. Thornton gave it away though, he missed countless doubles to win legs and let Chizzy nick it.

Yeah Thornton should really have won that match. Had chances to break Chizzy twice and didn't take them.

Sigh, unsurprisingly the boring boring tables chant has made it to the PL

No Kolo Yaya chant yet though.....

I enjoy watching Wright playing these days, he could do well in this tournament.

Great start to the Premier League for Wright.

Really solid performance from Wright, especially since it's his debut. He is definitely the type of player that loves playing in front of a big crowd so this tournament could really suit him.

Very hard to predict a winner in the next one between Barney and Anderson, a draw could well be on the cards.

Anderson at 11/8 looks a decent bet to me. In good form after winning last week.

What a performance by Barney. Anderson didn't do much wrong but Barney with a 108 average.

Same problem as last year, my predictions have been spot on but the players are all over the place...

What a performance from Barney, unstoppable.

Will be interesting to see how Taylor gets on with his new darts tonight, he couldn't have a tougher match to try them out in!

I actually like the numbering. I think it's for the 3D cameras.

Van Gerwen is really in the groove here, could be a walkover for MVG.

No one could have predicted that! It's safe to say Phil's new darts didn't work out.

Unbelievable performance from MvG though, he simply blew him away. I never thought I would see the day that Taylor gets whitewashed.
