Hi all,ok im desperately trying to cut out my smoking,i have bought 2 ecigs from smokex the first lasting a week before stopping working and then a second that lasted 2 days before breaking down,it's as if the battery's in them just died and wont charge, the second time when i brought it back and asked for either a new one or a refund i was flatly refused,so im not going down that road with them again and now back smoking again

Im not working so i need to find an ecig that is cheap and reliable,i roll my own and only spend €20-25 a week but my health from 30+ years is really taking it's toll.

im hoping someone can recommend a plug and smoke ecig to me,i really dont want to go down the road of liquid(for now)
ive had a look around on some of the sites linked on boards but it's confusing and seems pricey compared to the smokex.(i no they broke you get what you pay for) but on the financial side i have to go cheap.
all help and ideas greatfully appreciated.

The only cheap option is to go with the liquid option.

I started with a single kit from www.thebestshop.eu and a bottle of joyetech RY4. That's about €30 (use discount code irishvape) and will last a couple of weeks.

    http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10004594/1383905-authentic-innokin-itaste-vw-v3-0-7-in-1-variable

I don't read much about Fasttech on here, perhaps because of the three week delivery time (Hey, it's free).
If I was starting to vape again I would avoid all the other kits and spend on one of these. Liquids from fasttech are also incredibly cheap. Same brand names, Hangsen RY4 is a good place to start, there's no fancy blended flavours, but for bread and butter liquids and consumables the prices are amazing.

I think you stand a much better chance of sticking with the vaping if you start with decent kit. Weak vapes with dodgy batteries and leaky clearos will ultimately put people off.
It's very confusing to begin with and that's a reason why the cigarette looking shopping centre stand selling ones are prevalant, but a good battery clearo set up and a nice liquid is a way more satisfying experience.

You usually buy the heating element only. These last about a week and cost around €2. You can rebuild them yourself though, which is pretty straight forward.

Under $6 for a 5 pack, should get a month out of that.
Fits the innokin vv I posted above. Very easy to change out.

You've heard of the EU gives a 2 year warranty on all electrical goods EU (Directive 1999/44/EC) and here in Ireland the Irish Sales of Goods Act its even longer than that right? Sure rechargeable batteries won't be expected to last THAT long but I'd expect a good 6 months out of a rechargeable battery. Imagine if the battery in your phone went after a week or two. You'd be raging. Take it back to the shop and get a new one! If you ask them nicely they'll probably even do it without an argument! :) If they flat out refuse to look after you then give the National Consumer Agency a call they'll point you in the right direction. ;)

    Irish store.

    €25 per week = €1250 per year.

Good starter kit + 2 coil heads a week (you probably won't need that many) + 1 bottle of juice a week = less than €1000. Enough spare change for a fancy upgrade, even!

    ok here goes

    so this kit

    http://www.thebestshop.eu/shop/electronic-cigarettes-starter-kits/355-new-510-manual-start-kit.html

    these clearomizers ??????

    http://www.thebestshop.eu/shop/clearomizers/354-new-510-bottom-coil-clearomizer.html

and then some juice,is that what i need?
also what are the cartridges for?
is it easier/cheaper to just buy clearomizers or ive heard about rebuilding them?

    Hey Jambo,
They look kinda similar to the cigarette style/size ones you can get in shopping centres I think. No brand name, no reviews, very small battery life.
I wouldn't recommend to be honest, but I understand if you have budget constraints.
Maybe have a look in Ovale on Gardiner Street, there's also a new shop on Talbot street called KIK or something. You can try stuff out and get the feel of it there.
There are some Italian guys over in the arcade on Marys Street, near the Jervis shopping centre too. Nice guys and they stock DEA liquids, I found the 'calliope' to be a good starter one.
I've met folks who had tried and failed to use the cig-a-likes to quit who were completely suprised by the vape from a good battery-clearo set up.
An Ego battery with the iClear 16 heads would be a good cheap start. Buy an extra battery (a twist to vary voltage is great) as funds allow.

    This gets you going €20:

    Extra Clearo @ €5
    http://www.vaperus.ie/innokin/245-iclear16.html

    Just my 2c.
    Good luck with the search.

bit of a minefield tbh

are clearomizers interchangeable ? as in do they fit all or is it a case of each brand has it's own?

There are two main fittings, ego and 510.

Usually, ego batteries will take both fittings, but a clearomiser will be one or the other. For a starter, I would recommend getting ego style batteries as you have a multitude of clearomisers that are compatible.

The place in Mary street is good but more expensive than online. Their cheapest starter kit is €30, which isn't as good as this one.

    http://www.thebestshop.eu/shop/electronic-cigarettes-starter-kits/194-single-ego-c-twist-with-ce4-starter-kit.html

But the lads in smoke different are very helpful and will show you how to work everything. They'll also let you try different flavours.

Get one of these starter kits for £7.50, it includes 2 clearos. Postage is £1.50. I've used them for over a year and all the batteries are still working fine. The clearos last me a month of heavy use.

I use this liquid - this huge bottle will last you aaaages. €13.99+99c delivery. I use 24mg strength.

Oh, if you order the 100ml liquid, get this empty bottle with a needle tip, as the 100ml bottle doesn't have one on it. 99c.

A great company to deal with, he always includes a little free sample of some bizarre flavoured liquid. I have quite the collection now!

Good Call Tequila, those are great prices.
If they really are genuine Innokin gear that's impressive. 5 iclear 16 clearos for £12 vs €5 each here. Looks like similar pricing to FastTech, but local, I wonder if he's drop-shipping or just holding limited stocks. Admittedly his range is quite narrow, but the iTaste 3 kit including 5 clearos is a steal at £30.

That starter kit from Innokin at £7.50 is the winner, perfect back up to leave in the car or whatever.

I don't know if they're genuine or not, the packaging is a bit cheap looking as you can see, but I've probably bought about twenty of them for myself and others and had no problems.

It says "Inno" on the battery?

No, these don't come apart, but to be honest you'll get at least a couple of months out of the two that come with it. I just bin them. If I were you I'd buy 2 of the starter kits instead, then you have a battery in use, a battery charging, and 4 clearos. But you'll manage with one if you want to try it out first.

sorry for all the ??????? :o

Def agree, you need two batteries starting out otherwise you will end up smoking while waiting for the battery to charge.

Don't worry about the questions, happy to help!

You can't take this particular clearomiser apart to clean or replace bits of it etc, but some other ones you can.

It is a separate part to the battery, the battery is the black piece in the pic and the clearo is the, well, clear thing you put the liquid into!

I agree. Although these do charge really quickly, maybe an hour.

Best of luck with it! Don't forget the www.bargainvapour.com site for cheaper liquids - and they do next day delivery which is handy.

It's handy to have a pack of cotton buds in for cleaning the connections etc.

I had a near permanent cough from smoking - I haven't had a cough since Sept 2012 when I started vaping. It's magic stuff!

They usually get them back in stock quickly. If you're in a hurry, get this one, it's the same one but with just one cartomiser.

    http://www.paradisevapeuk.co.uk/product-p/xmas-ego.htm

Alternatively, www.bargainvapour.com do them for €15 - although double the price you'd get it the next day.

    http://www.bargainvapour.com/Clear_Cloud_650mah_Mini_Kit/p1274299_10860145.aspx

The Bargain Vapour one has the rebuildable cartomiser, and gives you the option when ordering to buy spare wicks (the bit that wears out).
