Little Snickers?

I've just had a snickers bar, or marathon to us oldies.

It seemed to be very small, so I checked it wasn't a snack size one. They are all 48g, as are Mars Bars.

Is it just me, or have they gone the way of Wagon Wheels?

    I think they were.

If that is the case the bar has gotten 26.15% smaller yet the price hasn't reflected this.

The same for Moro bars and most chocolate bars. Paying the same or more for less food, only a few grams but it ads up to their profits

The bar has got smaller but my belly is 25% bigger:confused:

They've reduced the size in order to meet their goal of having all bars under 250kcals, or something around there. Its for our own good dont ya know.

Of course the price has not gone down to reflect this.

More to do with the price of cocoa going up and the choice is between a price increase or a smaller bar.

I remember when a strawberry penny mouse was the size of your fist.

    And only cost a penny!

They will all be fun sized in a decade.

The worst case of this has to be Cadburys reducing the pink snack bar by 33% and leaving the price the same.

It went from 3 fingers to 2, complete joke.

    EDIT:

It appears they did lower the price but its still a joke. ;)

I notice a lot of them re-design the packaging while making the bars smaller... I guess the shiny new wrapper is supposed to distract you from the fact that you're getting less for your money.

Aldi can sell huge bars for not much more than the price of a snickers.

I had a mars cup with a old picture and slogan saying "2 good ounces" which is about 57grams. Yorkies have dropped in size many times.

Aldi or lidl will sell bigger bars for less as mentioned, most find it to be nicer chocolate too, and if they say they don't they probably would in a blind tasting ;)

    Cub bars are lovely.

Better known as Lion bars of course but much too small now to still warrant being called that.

See what I did there? See the way..

    ..ah come on.

Drifter bars should be called 'The Littlest Hobo' bars as they are now just little drifters.

    Get it?

    Tough crowd.

Okay, which bars are so small now compared to their original size, that they should be called 'Pubic Hair Bars'?

Turkish Delight should be renamed Slap and Tickle.

    This happens all the time

Coca cola and other soft drinks manufacturers did this about 5 years ago - reduced pub bottle sizes from 250 mls to 220 mls and upped the price

Lloyd Grossman pasta sauces reduced from 425 mls to 350

Innocent smoothies reduced from a litre to 750ml

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
