So, let's discuss meeting up for beers.

    When and where?

Galway had previously been discussed, as had Cork. There's more pubs in Dublin though, but I'm easy.

Where to we get drunk? 15 votes

Links has a simultaneous thread running in the rock and metal forum, the suggestion was a place called The Cottage in Galway where it would be possible to hire a room and set up a playlist etc.

Also the weekend of 24/25th Jan was suggested. I've got a gig on the 24th which is the Friday, but could get a bus or train to wherever the next day (I'm assuming it won't be in Dublin).

Is this a "Rock & Metal" Beers as opposed to a Nocs Beers then? :)

Nah, just Links and me were trying to combine the two :pac:

The rock/metal one doesn't really seem to be gathering momentum and to be honest I'd rather meet you guys. So everyone seems to be thinking Cork...so shall we change the poll to what weekend suits everyone best, or is the 25th good for everyone or too soon to scrape funds together after Chrimbo?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,029 ✭✭✭salacious crumb

I can't believe nobody else voted for Mos Eisley.

    Losers.

Id say feb would be best sc, give people time to get mula together if it is indeed gonna go ahead in cork, get a mod to put up a poll with a few dates and people can vote :) watcha think?

I said Cork. Cheydinhal is closer to Cork than one would imagine :pac:

Any chance of keeping it to the late side of Feb? Don't mean to bring the thread down but it's my mother in laws first anniversary in Feb and then it's OHs birthday as well so got a lot going on from the beginning to the middle of February. AND I REALLY WANT TO MEET ALL YOU GUYS! :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,029 ✭✭✭salacious crumb

Hmmm. I 'm not sure about late Feb. I only get paid every two weeks, my birthday is 3/3 and I get paid on 20/2 so I'll be needing to keep that weeks salary to get slaughtered for my birthday :pac:

Shall we push it back til the weekend of 7/8/9 March?, that way you can all laugh at me for being 40 :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,190 ✭✭✭✭sammyjo90

Its gonna be next christmas at this stage :D im easy, as i have no ties at the moment so it all depends on you people who have lives haha

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,604 ✭✭✭writer_lady170

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,029 ✭✭✭salacious crumb

Of course. They'll have to make up a fictitious name though :pac:

Hotel? I'll be staying in a cheap hostel ha ha.

Stayed in one in Shandon last September, it was decent enough and cheap. All good with me :D

So are we agreed on the weekend of 7/8 March?...preferably the Saturday as it'd be easier for me to get to Cork on a Saturday. I could do Friday if everyone else wants though.....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,190 ✭✭✭✭sammyjo90

Sounds alright to me crumbly, shall i bake a cake? :D

I am afraid I can't make it that weekend. Friends 21st. Look ye go ahead and have it without me. At this stage of the game most of February and start of March are booked up with me between birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and christenings. Wouldn't mind if I could get out of half of them but a lot of it is close friends and family :/

If my gaf hasn't been sold by then yiz can all crash in my gaf. Unless I don't like you when we meet up :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,190 ✭✭✭✭sammyjo90

    TWO cakes?!

I think we should have another one at mozzy's house that way she HAS to come :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,614 ✭✭✭Mozzeltoff

If we had the summer like we had last year, beach party! (at night of course :P)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,029 ✭✭✭salacious crumb

Well, my gaf is twenty minutes away from the sea, if that's any use :pac:
