From the way HHH was talking about it, it does sound like it won't just be people currently in WWE taking part in the Cruiserweight tournament. He's a bit over the weight, but I'd like to see Christopher Daniels in there.

Paul Wight used be rolling with the Sons Of Anarchy Motorcycle Club at the time of that angle.

Under an exclusive ROH contract now.

I'm guessing any outsiders will be from EVOLVE or guys they are already close to signing and want one last look at.

Judging from what I have seen on another well known forum from an insider well known to many of us here anybody from the U.K. scene, Evolve, Lucha Underground, American Indies and even Japan are possibilities. As well as unseen WWE/NXT talent like Manny Andrade(La Sombra). If I was a betting man Id be puting my money on a Manny Andrade v Zach Sabre Jnr final.

Has there been many or any changes to the WWE network recently? I cancelled my subscription and stopped watching all WWE just before Summerslam as I was so bored with it and haven't watched anything since.

Are the Raws still being uploaded 30 days after the live airing?

WWE launched a new main website.

I notice the videos on the site have a dedicated cast button for Chromecast.

Surely on its way to the network soon!

Ricochet's contract with LU supposedly only 3 years not 7 at least.

HHH specifically naming RevPro and Progress means ZSJ/Scurrl/Ospreay good shouts for the tourney. I'd go as far as saying I'd be shocked if at least 2 weren't involved.

You'll def see Busick/Swann too, and your man from AAA they signed whose name I've forgotten, it'll be really easy to flesh out and should be amazing!

Does this kind of thing that HHH is behind make people happy that trips will be in charge of the direction of World Wrestling Entertainment at some point ?

I wonder if The Brian Kendrick will get involved in this tournament. I liked his 2008-2009 heel run.

Yes I do think it will be in slightly better shape with trips. He does love the big men like Vincent but he realises that money is in smaller guys too more then vince every has

A leopard doesn't change its spots. Triple H is the same person he always was only now he is trying to make himself popular before he takes over. Roman Reigns is very heavily criticised and everybody blames Vince. I'm sure Vince likes Reigns, but he is one of Triple H's guys. That's what you can expect more of when he takes over. NXT and this Cruiserweight Series are vanity projects to make people like him rather than indications of what Raw will be like when he takes over.

Triple H is probably trying to endear himself to the "cool internet fans who chant and pop loud". As long as we get good matches I'm happy.

I agree with all of this. But NXT is a very well booked show(probably the best booked PW show around today), so this points very well to his skill as a booker.

Time will tell when Vince steps down/passes away what sort of product we get, but i'd still be quite hopeful. Nepotism and favoritism will always exist, as it does in most walks of life, that's just something you have to accept most of the time, unfortunately.

Riochet appears to be a non runner contractually, hes on a 3 season deal and its apparently until the end of the last aired episode. Doesnt mean WWE cant send some green LUs way and get him involved.Same goes for Rey Rey and any LU stars. LU seem to need the money and it wouldn’t hurt them to be on WWEs sweet side unlike ROH and TNA.

Will Osprey is under NJPW contract so its highly unlikely that he will be there. I wouldn’t expect any NJPW names but I will be happy to be proven wrong. Liger could be involved similar to his Takeover appearance and Rocky Romero appears to be on his way so we may see him involved.

Scrull and Sabre Jr could be very well part of it.

Matt riddle would be one name from evolve that most likely turn up considering his ties with WWE.

Id say guys like Rich Swann, La Sombra (Now Manny Andrade) and Biff Busick are all expected to be involved and it would surprise me to see Brian Kendrick, Rey Mysterio and Tajiri perhaps called in.

Heres my predictions at the some of the 32 names

    1. Rich Swann
    2. Zack Sabre Jr
    3. Matt Riddle
    4. Manny Andrade
    5. Rey Mysterio
    6. The Brian Kendrick
    7. Neville
    8. Tyler Breeze
    9. Kalisto
    10. Johnny Gargano
    11. Tomasso Ciampa
    12. Finn Balor
    13. Tajiri
    14. Kenta
    15. Ricochet
    16. Rocky Romero
    17. Marty Scrull
    18. Jamie Noble
    19. Jushin Liger

Regarding HHHs plans, with NXT he has kind of mimicked Vinces takeover of the territorys back in the 80’s. Hes built his own super indy with NXT and making it harder for ROH, TNA and other indies to tie guys down to guaranteed deals and this tournie is an extension of this. NXT may still be technically development but in reality it is its own brand with a rack of hot indy talent.

NXT has now made it more difficult for ROH and TNA to get guys to sign full time deals, with ROH hand being forced to pay higher contracts to keep stars such as the Bucks, Jay Lethal and Bobby Fish. (who appartently knew about this tornie and used it as leverage when hashing out the new deal with ROH)

Idsay this tourniment will be a success similar to NXT and it will be a vehicle to build one or 2 new stars like La Sombra or Busick that are already signed to NXT

Behold gentlemen of the network thread. You can now watch a Spanish language version of fast lane along with both English and German on demand.

E&C show is a bit like "Are You Serious?" show that was hosted by Josh Matthews and Road Dogg a few years ago.

There is a 1 month delay with new Raws being added.

You have to wait a month before it's added to the Network. They have contracts with TV stations worldwide to broadcast Raw and they'd hardly be happy if it's on the Network a few days later.

Many TV stations rely on ad revenue to fund them and shows like Raw bring in the viewers.

Oh right...I was under the impression that raw would be streamed live on the network...thanks!

No way. The money TV channels pay for Raw is the WWE's largest source of revenue. Vince would be mad in the head to air Raw live on the Network.

It baffles me that people ask that question because it's like that for every independently-produced show. When you see a new episode of your favourite series, the chances are the TV channel has paid the producers for exclusive broadcasting rights for that region.

They need popular shows for TV ratings, so companies will approach them and request to advertise their products during the commercial breaks, and the more popular the TV show is, the more money the TV channel can demand for advertising slots, but if Netflix is airing it the next day, it will eat into the channels TV ratings, so that why TV channels include these clauses in their contracts with the WWE.

To be fair there are people who are just casual fans that don't know the ins and outs of TV distribution rights.

There is a 1 hour version of RAW that is shown on Sunday mornings on Sky 1.

I've decided that I'm going to try and watch one mania a night up until WM 32. I'm going to start with some of the ones I didn't see live. I'm starting with Wrestlemania 23 from detroit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 41,166 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

    So Wrestlemania 23 so far.
Loved the fact they used Vince's opening for WM 3 to introduce Aretha Franklin to sing the national anthem.

MITB match was a great opening match. Shame that mr kennedy would lose it after having an injury that he didn't have. ****

Khali and kane is a cluster and you'd forget how bad khali was in the ring. DUD

Benoit and MVP for the us title was a great match. I liked MVP at the time and he really was good in ring. This was benoit's last WM before he did what he did. Still a good match. ***

Ecw originals vs the new breed was okay. Not bad and not a four star match but nice nostalgia burst.

Taker vs batista for the WHC. Jesus big dave brought his working boots for this one. A match that definitely was better than I expected even if I knew the result due to takers mania streak. Fair play to both taker and batista. ****

Bobby lashley vs Umaga in the battle of the billionaires. Meh it was okay but just never seemed to get going and trump was out of his depth. Just meh even with old cold stone being the ref. **

    Divas match. fast forwarded through.

WWE championship match still to watch.

WRT that Kane and Khali match: I still have no idea what anyone's motivation was for that match. It seemed to exist just to have Kane body slam Khali (based on it being overlaid with the Hogan/Andre body slam in videos). It was an awful idea on pretty much every level.
