    Sob....
    I want an XL...
Or do I want to save for a PS4...
    Or a 2ds....
    My mind is going!

Get an XL. The 2DS can wait surely, considering you already have a 3DS...it's simply a less functional 3DS. The PS4 too can wait, at least another year. XL all the way

I'm inclined to do a lot of my gaming these days on a laptop or a phone. That way I can be in the living room while girlfriend/family are watching tv/reading and I'm only being partially antisocial rather than holed up in a room on the other side of the house like the grumpy teenager I really am inside.

Get both! The Luigi XL and a US 2DS and I'll buy them off you so you can bother the funds towards a ps4. And when you sell that buy the Zelda XL.

    Sorry.

Do get an XL though, if you don't have one and those Luigi ones well be future hard to get ones. Also then proceed to get Fire Emblem and SMT: Devil Survivor Overclocked. And an US 2DS for the likes of a Code of the Princess (the spiritual successor to that Guardian Heroes lark), which is a side scrolling beat 'em up, your fave.

We shall see, I might have a line on a cheap, new 3ds:XL, not sure... Not one of the limited edition models but that's OK.
The Luigi one is lovely though.
If the XL works out I'll put my next gen ambitions on hold and keep my lovely GB Micro, and Ibara as well.
Place would look bare without them!

This is the reason I keep my cabs/pc/xbox in the dining room,
The missus is watching telly in the sitting room and im gaming I'll shout in "want coffe?" every now and then to pretend im there!
most of the time she ends up making it as Im too busy shouting at the screen with serious profanities!

Dining room is definitely a good idea. Having them in the sitting room itself poses it's own problems.

The FrancoB headphone jacks are a godsend for cab gaming with people in the room. Although sometimes you'll still get complaints about clicking buttons/arcade sticks. Raiden 2's lack of an autofire button is particularly bad for it :pac:

And then there are the profanities..

I went to bed last night to the sound of Mrs Ciderman watching New Girl at full blast, the TV might as well have been in the room with me.
If I'm playing a game however and see gets a whisper of the squeal of brakes or the report of an auto shotgun and she is the one roaring profanities to turn it down!

I am a bit aspergers about it all tbh, my collection is more like a hoard and so, perhaps, she is right to reflect another pov, given that if she was behind it I'd have spent every cent we have on gaming.

Those kinds of ppl are the worst tbh!
Why don't you try to surprise her and get a NES with a few games like arkanoid, bomberman, pacman, wild gunman? (Duck Hunt included ofc ;))

If you are afraid that you might have no one to put a stop on your frenzyness regarding buying games just establish a limit to yourself.

    Hmmm
I have had a NES in the collection for some time now and she has never wanted to play Duck Hunt at all!
No, I'm going to try to entice her with Tearaway on the Vita

Ah, limits, you're assuming I am one of those 42 year old men who can control their appetites.
    Sadly you're mistaken :(
That said the old credit card is cooling down, slowly but surely.
I have resisted the temptation to buy all sorts of stuff since Christmas.
I know its only been a fortnight but little breakthroughs! They mount up!

At least your trying! Better than nothing. :D
Instead of wanting to buy everything where you set your eyes upon. Why not choose 1 or 2 and really play it instead of buying and let it pilling up without ever trying it out?

Or (if i have read it correctly somewhere along this topic) you could always start playing the ones you bought and never got the time to play it...

You will have to come along to one of the Beers nights in my home and see how meagre my collection is.
    So few games and consoles.
Don't know how on earth I got to be a mod around here....
I'm sure that's a question asked by many in these things parts tbh ;)

    Shhh!
Don't want folk thinking I live in a home packed to the rafters with computers, games, consoles, old CRTs, empty pork pie packets, empty tins of red bull, empty Guinness crisp bags and me in the middle in an unwashed Xbox T-shirt...
I have to keep some semblance of normality...

So far any visitors have resisted the temptation to walk away with something, but then I carefully check on the character of those permitted to visit.
And then, of course, is the cavity search...

No wonder everyone resists the temptation of leaving with a non-authorized gift! :pac:

Then we will have to create a secret time and space portal when visiting you! :D

Why do you think I havn't been to an A&R Beers night in a few years? :D It's like Nothing to Declare but with games

The fact that 'New Girl' is still on the air while 'Don't Trust the B* in Apt. 23' was canceled is criminal.

I didn't get as much gaming on over the xmas as I was hoping. Although last week I was trying to introduce Dark Souls to someone, but it was clicking for them but it reminded me how great it is, so I've been playing through that again whenever I get the chance.

Will be booking a week off work in March for Dark Souls 2 (Although Stick of Truth is out the same week)

Also, I've set up my Raspberry Pi as a retro system. The plan is to mount it on the X-Arcade so that I can just plug the whole unit into a TV by itself. Have it nicely loaded up with NES roms at the moment and got unreasonably hooked on Bible Adventures.

I think I owe it to all those who made the long journey to my place to say I have no issue in getting my visa and the needed inoculations before journeying to the depths of the Southside.

    I support this statement.

If Feb rolls around and we're gasping for a place, I guess I can have one here again, I'm am conscious (most of the time) that it's a bit out of the way, in the same way as the sea is a bit wet....

No need, as they are South Siders they have the Durt.
While we on the North Side have misery, and Sparks.... couldn't take him with you, could you? He brings the tone of the place down with all of his Repton talk ;)

Ooh I could be tempted to come out of hiding and head up to Bray, assuming you'll still have the cabs setup? Other than o1s1n's impending move home, the two best things about bray:

China Kitchen - delicious veggie spring rolls and 4-in-1s. Shame you have to look at the drunks coming in just to use the jacks upstairs though.
The Larder - nicest sambos and cakes in all of Ireland.

    :D

Excellent, definitely a lot closer to yourself alright! Yep, both cabs are coming to Bray. I've a spot ready for them in the dining room. We can kick off Ireland's only annual Raiden meet :D

I've still never been to The Larder! Remember you mentioning that place to me before.

I'm up for hosting as well.... :(

Would someone bring a tablet and I can Skype into the next beers haha

Really am trying to make it up to another beers but with work and everything it makes it a big hastle. And February has a trip to London and a stag weekend lined up for me so not a chance of making it

I'll just have to have my own beers night...with blackjack and hookers
