Would this be a popular posting or more for people close to retiring/don't have the energy or time for full time work?

    Just curious.

    Absolutely 100% not.

To start with the job progresses from 4 day week to 5 days early/late shifts full time.

Then if you think it's a bit of a breeze for a few days you will be disappointed with the amount of work you will have to do.

There are people who come in close to retirement to earn some money but they know that it's not a handy number.

Is that all they do? Surely they do more routes than that? What about the 1,2 and 3?

How many points? If its one or two, I would not worry about it.

Its 6 points from 2 dates but there from 2010 and 2012, what happened was my license expired and I didn't renew it for a couple if years so when I renewed it the the time was finished for the points and theyre continuing when I renewed it

    JC, it was this week.

There are a load of hurdles before, that narrows down the field.

    For me

    CPC case study, Jan
    Learner D theory, Feb
    Application, Feb
Dublin Bus written test (3 parts in one sitting if I remember), April or March
Driving test in a car, October
    Interview, October
    Medical, November
    Reference calls, December

Then, when successful I got invited to train for my D and drivers cpc

All these steps happen throughout the year.
    085andym got picked today.

Maybe it will be speeded up this year.

Dont let the time frame put you off.

Just apply and forget about it. You will know within two weeks of each stage if you did not pass that stage. At least I think thats how it works , so dont quote me on it.

If you are gainfully employed already, then it should be no probs. ;)

Best of luck with your application. :)

I applied in February 2016 and got the job offer 2 days ago. They seem to be coming to the end of the early 2016 applicants now. The strike also delayed our applications by a few weeks. In relation to your question about penalty points , you are better off being honest - I had 3 points and there were no questions asked. Maybe if you stuck a note in with your penalty points letter explaining your situation?

    Best of luck!

I got offer too, starting on 6th March, then staying on in Phibsborough Depot. If anybody could let me know which nursery routes you learn first and also all routes out of that depot, it would be really useful. Thank you in advance! :)

I'm staying on in phibsboro too. That's the garage I was hoping for I don't live too far away. I found a list of routes on Google last night from the different garages I'll have a look for it again

  • Registered Users Posts: 51 ✭✭085andym

The Routes that operate from Phibsboro are:-

    Routes - 37, 38, 39, 66, 67, 70, 120, 122

It won't let me share the link but if u Google "routes from phibsboro garage"
A few sites come up with a bit of info for all depots

I had one last year it's really easy
    You do calculation on fares
Then you have to write a accident report
    And then multiple choice questions
Its handy so I wouldn't be worried about it..
