Road to Cannes - R2C 2014 (Jan 11th & Feb 1st @ XGC)

Hi all, We are gonna run a Road to Cannes series (2 events in Jan and Feb) at the XGC in order to get some practise in for the trip and to also run competitions for sending a player or two over to rep us at the event. Ok Lads,

The second instalment for this is on Feb 1st. Couple of changes to be announced. Blaz Blue will be double elimination. As a result, the price will go to 5 euro - same as AE and Marvel.

Other than that, it is same as for the others. Marvel has a low turnout last time -prob due to xmas and exams but I heard them all saying it was free as a result.

Would it be possible to have a KI single elim side tourney at the event?

I wouldn't enter ofc and would gladly bring a console to run brackets

Don't see why not. Worked well last time. I would imagine we will have the same arrangement as last time so you could setup xbo same place.

I want to just ask that people please bring copies of the games. We has a grand total of 3 SF disks and 2/3 marvel. We had 8 consoles but could use 1/2 of them. Can peeps coming please bring a disk for games and thank you to those who did.

The tourney cannot run without the games and we do not have any other than that which people bring.

I can bring 2 copies of SSF4, I can use a USB for AE for one copy, if anyone has AE on another USB key please bring it .

UPDATE

Due to popular demand and in the hope of getting more peeps to show up to the next R2C event, we are making all games double elim...... Bring your hype!

This will have the effect of making the day a lot longer so we are re-jigging the schedule a bit and just flat feeing all the games the same, with some saver options for those who want to enter more than one game.

So the new Schedule and pricing structure is as follows:

Registrations will open at approximately 12.45pm on the day and will run up until the start of each of the events.

Tournament Details
Usual Rules from DoC or similar.

uMvC3 - 1pm start. Double elimination
(Best 3 of 5 with Grand finals being same) - Platform: XBOX360

AEv2012 - 2pm start. Double elimination
(Best 2 of 3 with Grand finals being best 3 of 5) - Platform: XBOX360

BlazBlue - 1.30pm. Double elimination
(Best 2 of 3 with Grand finals being best 3 of 5) - Platform: Ps3

Injustice - 1.30pm. Double elimination
(Best 3 of 5 with Grand finals being same) - Platform: Ps3

Melee - 1.30pm. Double elimination
(I actually have no idea and DeMan Dave will have to chime in but it'll be a tourney standard) - Platform: Wii

Killer Instinct - 2.30pm. Double elimination
(Best 2 of 3) - Platform: Xbox One

Price List
Venue Entry €5

All Games €5

Super Saver Combo
Enter 2 Games €8

Ultra Saver Combo
Enter 4 Games €15

Please note that wireless controllers are banned unless you get permission to use them so if you have one, get in touch.

As you can see, all games will have started by 2pm so I'd ask that people who up with plenty of time. We have rental space with the XGC for the times of the tourney, if you wish to play before tournament starts, please ensure you are aware you will need to rent the machines in question.
