It is so very brrrrrrrrrrrr today. My toe-toes are even cold. It is deffo cold-levels equating to Snow I reckon.

Paws I'm just over an hour away from mine. I do drive alright but I didn't always drive and just the same had to rely on lifts and shoddy sh1tty bus services. I know you are worried about the week you might not get paid, but is there any way you can ring up Social Welfare and ask them can they do that fast-track thingy, they might be able to put ya back on Jobseeker's for a short period you're not on-duty and take ya back off it again when ya get called back for more work? Maybe ring them or something? Actually there was a Veterinary Nurses's job advertised in Galway there last week or the previous week maybe you saw it.

I could possibly. That week is in the middle of the few week's I'm meant to be getting, so I'd have to sign on for 6 days and sign back off. I think I'll have to talk to the manager tomorrow. It's just really awkward and I already had a ridiculous amount of hassle from the SW about another week I did in the same place last year. Maybe I'll ring them in the morning.

Yeah Social Welfare are pretty tight about things like that but deffo get onto them that you're aware there may be a duration such as a week or two weeks or whatever where they may be no work available for you and they may be able to sort you out. I think the way it works out is, where there is a window of around 4 weeks that you have prior knowledge there won't be work available they can sign you back on again and sign you off again because you've known about it before it happened.

Will definitely have to get onto them either tomorrow or Wednesday when I talk to the manager. I'm not sure I'll be able to do Stephens' Day tbh.
